Asus Maximus IX Apex and Coffee Lake Cpu's !

Recommended Posts

OneB1t You must read first post of this topic. Do exactly what was writen here. If it runs, flash it by moded 1602 bios for HT to work. Use flashback feature (button at back panel).

You need soldering skill, good soldering pen, no shaky hands and you need to be carefull. If you not sure, dont do it.

Jumper near bios chip -> you can flash any bios file

Jumper near pcie slot -> you can start coffee

Tonight I try bios and HT do not work with 0094 BIOS stuck at 22 post code or 18.
In BIOS 1 I flash 0094  in BIOS 2 flash 1602.

A strange thing happened to me, the first time I flash 0084 bios in M9A all work without mods and CPU too is untouched but next time when I put CPU in socket, I need to solder mod back

hi, any chance that someone has working bios with HT for maximus IX formula?

for HW mod do i need to solder 2 pairs of points (images attached)? Just curious why ready bioses there is only for Apex? Found some recomendations at win-raid but already modded will be far more better.

Nope... I'm not familiar with any of those things which you are talking about. But if you tested it, and actually found any specific features are missing, please provide links, to where they are properly explained. Then maybe @danske can be made aware and possibly integrate them into a future release. You're going to have to actually test his BIOS first though. Certainly I have no problems with that on my own board. But I'm kindda busy right now. And might not actually get around to it for quite a while myself.

[edit] but for windows xp compatibility aspect - that is not really any problem of the bios modding. The bios is based on M10A (z370) which is why it does not work. You would need to look for other types of solutions for win xp. @dsanke is not going to be providing any kind of a fix for that.

So now i tested moded 1704. But i havent SPI. I have tested flashback.. I renamed bin to creative.rom. Flashback flashed it but 00 code. So i switched to bios2 and board have serious problems to start. Must click power button on fornt panel more than 10 times and board jumps to bios2 and run. Onboard power button not responds. So then i flashback it with 1602 and board started and started twice again with "flashing bios......" text. Then started and boot. So flashback 1704 not working for me. I tested this twice with different flash drive so file may be corrupted,.. But no, it just doesnt work,... Yes i read it "Use SPI", but its just an test,.. :)
