We ARE NOT ALLOWED to use Y-Cruncher 0.8.6 at HWBOT.

The main goal is that we don't want to affect current ranking on benchmarks that have over 20K submissions. Secondly most of the 5B and higher are mainly ambient cooled submissions, with far lesser popularity thus current efforts get rewarded with a low amount of HW points for the top spots (6-15 pts maximum). This versus the 1B ranking where several CPUs get 50 HW points for top spot.

Via the numerous PMs it is clear that not all users want to rebench "once" more. This stand versus the ones chasing the globals ofc which obviously don't mind the improved performance as they can to grab 'easy' points.

We have debated it internally and took the path that HWBot wants to keep the 1B and 2.5B ranking as is and lock it at maximum Y-Cruncher 0.8.5 version. This taking into account the warning of the developers of both Y-Cruncher and BenchMate about the loss of 'optimal' support with newer hardware or Operating Systems.

This decision will have pros and ofc haters, but internal testing showed that the performance gain with the newer version would once more obliterate the current rankings with not only the latest and greatest hardware, but will also have an impact on older CPU gens. 

So what will happen with future releases of Y-cruncher?

Since the 5B and higher presets require a massive amount of memory, we will keep that ranking open for new unlocked performance releases, so rebenching to keep eg top spot and idem ditto points is a must with each new software release. 

Globals will be added to the 5B preset so people will be motivated to bench it. 



So this decision is a bit of both worlds, the most fair choice to make from our point of view. Secure the current and open up for a new ranking.

As most of you already know, I have taken over Roman's role at HWBOT.

We are looking for partners to ensure our platform remains fast, secure, and ready for next-generation hardware. To be clear: Partners will have no say in our rankings. HWBOT is, and will remain, an independent platform for overclocking—it is a place for enthusiasts where performance is the only thing that matters.

We will continue updating the Bot. Our goal is to provide a better interface in the future and to give ambient setups higher visibility without sidelining extreme overclockers.

I’m currently working on the code and staying in close contact with our moderators to make sure we move in the right direction.

After some emailing with The UL benchmarks support team we got informed of the fact that any Custom Run is not taken into account for their Hall of Fame.

This is also an easy rule to impose at HWBOT, yet we also feature specific CPU and GPU benchmarks in our benchmark suite.

So we have to adapt to the ongoing situation to avoid any abuse of the current ruling even before UL Benchmarks will provide a fix.


So depending on the benchmark we are forced to impose specific additional rules:

 - For standard UL 3Dmark 3D benchmarks NO Custom runs are allowed

 - For specific CPU or GPU only Tests of the 3DMark 3D benchmarks we impose that default benchmark settings have to
   remain applied, but a custom run is possible, so disabling for eg the CPU test when only the GPU score is required.

 - For TimeSpy Extreme CPU, the default benchmark settings can not be changed, but one is allowed to change ONLY the       
   CPU Instruction set to for e.g. AVX 512.

Thanks to Ess.one for finding this unfortunate bug, fingers crossed a software fix from UL Benchmarks will prevent future misabuse.

My first visit to COMPUTEX dates back to 2004—hard to believe it’s been 22 years since then.

Over the years, the tech industry has seen its ups and downs, from quieter periods to the explosive growth of the gaming era, and now the resurgence brought on by AI.

Through it all, COMPUTEX has stood as a witness to the ongoing evolution of technology and innovation.

Ever since NVIDIA sparked the AI trend during COMPUTEX 2023, the buzz around AI has remained strong.

Over the past two years, most brands have been working hard to align their new hardware and software with AI capabilities.

This year’s COMPUTEX 2025 carries the theme "AI NEXT", continuing the momentum from last year.

Once again, tech giants NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel are taking the stage in Taipei, with global media coverage driving excitement to new heights.

Even before the official opening of the show, many brands had already held their own product launch events.

In addition, there are numerous keynotes and technical forums happening throughout COMPUTEX.

Due to overlapping schedules, I was only able to attend a few of them.

One of the first highlights was Intel’s announcement of two new ARC Pro GPUs designed for workstations.

The ARC PRO B50 comes with 16GB of memory and is priced at $299 USD.

The higher-end ARC PRO B60 features 24GB of memory, and based on partner estimates, is expected to be priced between $500 and $1,000 USD.

On-site, Intel showcased a performance comparison between the ARC Pro B50 GPU and the NVIDIA RTX A1000.

Also on display was a sample of Panther Lake, which is currently expected to launch in early 2026. It may first debut in the laptop market.

At the Intel booth, several zones were dedicated to showcasing AI applications. One notable demo featured a 200HX series laptop running an interactive AI Game Play Coach developed by GGQ.

This tool provides real-time suggestions on gameplay strategy and player performance, offering helpful guidance during in-game scenarios.

A sofa design demo showcased how Adobe Substance 3D Sampler can convert real-world object images into realistic 3D PBR materials.

This approach significantly reduces the time and effort required compared to traditional material creation workflows.

The Face of Innovation AI photo booth allowed visitors to experiment with various appearance transformations and background styles.

After customizing their look, users could print their final image on the spot.

This year, software integration with AI is more widespread than ever, offering practical benefits for users with specific creative or functional needs.

This year, COMPUTEX attracted over 1,400 exhibitors for the first time.

With so many brands and new products showcased across the Nangang Exhibition Center, both visiting time and article length were limited.

Below, I’m sharing highlights from a few brands that personally caught my interest or took extra time to introduce their latest offerings during my visit.

First up is GIGABYTE & AORUS. Under the theme “LEADING EDGE”, GIGABYTE showcased a range of new AI solutions for gaming and content creation, aiming to accelerate AI adoption through upgraded hardware and software.

On the motherboard wall, the STEALTH ICE series motherboards feature a sleek white design and rear-connector layouts, reducing cable clutter for cleaner builds.

The new Z890 AORUS TACHYON ICE C2 supports CAMM2 memory.

The AORUS RTX 5090 STEALTH ICE graphics card also uses a rear-connector design.

The external GPU , the AORUS RTX 5090 AI BOX, boasts over 3000 AI TOPS of computing power.

Compared to the previous generation 4090 GAMING BOX, it delivers a significant boost in both gaming and AI application performance.

The ruling addition is to expand the PCmark score in the result window, this will now have to be enforced from 30th of July 2024.
On the left the old requirement, on the right the score window expanded.

 
This minor rule change will allow HWBOT to continue to competitively use PCMARK7,  so the  old legacy benchers can still try to chase and beat older records.

So from the 30th of July your verification screenshot should look like the sample shot below
