HWBOT Development: bugs, features and suggestions

  1. I've been looking all over the forums for this answer and can't find it and hope I've posted this question in the correct category - if not could a moderator move it for me? I don't usually worry about HWBOT submissions that don't recognize my hardware when the hardware is secondary to the submission. For example, when I do an XTU submission and it gets to the part about my PSU no matter what I do it will not accept that I have an EVGA SuperNOVA 1600 T2. It doesn't matter how I enter it, even with the auto-completion up to the point of "EVGA SuperNOVA" it wants me to enter "G2" or "P2" but no way it will take "T2". But no big deal - I'm doing an XTU submission and…

Apologies if this is in the wrong sub-section. Feel free to move or delete if thats the case. (I'd be happy just to get an email helping my issue). Don't know if this is a bug. But I received 4.2 hardware points on Saturday 18th of February for breaking the record for fastest ever CPU Frequency ever recorded, using my specific model of motherboard. The ASRock Fatal1ty 990FX Killer. Here's the link: CPU Frequency overclocking records @ HWBOT Today I was browsing my submissions and I noticed the entry is still listed, I am still in 1st place. Everything remains the same EXCEPT the points I received have vanished? Is this a bug? Very concerned…

  3. As many of you know, recently there has been a couple of discussions about the distribution of global points. Below you can find the threads that reference this topic. Updating my feeling How about 3D .. To keep a long story short, the core of the issue is that due to XTU attracting a lot of active members, it yields the highest amount of global points. Along with XTU, the 2D benchmarks are also more popular than the 3D benchmarks in contemporary overclocking. The technical side of the problem is that the point algorithm is based on the popularity of a certain ranking to determine how much points are given. This has as effect: Due to extreme high activity, XTU …

Can you please move the banner down a bit, I hit it way too much when trying to access the new posts and user CP area. Nearly every other time I try to click it has been on the ad. Thanks

Tried to put a team banner and then deleted it, but now it shows the text "team banner" and the symbol that the image doesn't exist, instead of not showing nothing like it should... When I'm editing my profile, if I put preview it dissapears, but appears again when I save change... Here you have a pic of what I'm saying:

This makes my eyes bleed. I *think* I see that the benches are split by DX support? If that's the case, please can they be spaced and separated with DX headers? Also... is there a way to only list benchmarks that a card supports? There's a LOT of wasted space in e.g. the 6600GT list, 7800GTX etc etc and it will only get worse as the years go by A secondary idea... could the benchmarks without points be in a separate tab? No points/experimental/trial etc Thankyou

Wanted to submit some scores for Novice Nimble 12, and im getting a error when trying to submit, both with Chrome and Edge. Tried to submit several times, getting the same error, also changing browser doesn't work. edit: Appears that the Screenshot+ verification picture of the rig required for NN12 where too large, when i submit with 1 picture and edit the sub to attach the rig photo it works.

For me, the forum works & loads quickly and without problems but the main site.....all results pages load slowly and cause FF to hang for a few seconds for EVERY PAGE. Checking a leaderboard takes minutes, not seconds What plugins etc does HWB use? Cookie clearance doesn't help.

I've noticed yesterday... now I have 532 gold cups but it was 632 a week ago (actually achievements counter still says that). I know rankings change all the time... so few cups here and there is no big deal. But 100 gold cups seems to be too much to just disappear. What could be the cause?

  12. Post 1 thing you would change, one thing only. The most important thing.....what would it be?

Following the discussion in: “How to fix the rankings †(http://forum.hwbot.org/showthread.php?t=160448) and “Adjustment for Global Points - Work in progress†http://forum.hwbot.org/showthread.php?t=150289 Also considering things that have happened in the last few months; lot's of people have quit, MSI has scrapped all overclocking programs, the feeling that OC'ing (at hwbot) in general is struggling, fewer vendor competitions, rules are complicated or unclear, buggy benchmarks, ultra-expensive hw, etc… I've come to the realization that the upcoming hwbot Revision 7 is meaningless, it won't do anything to improve or save overclocking. It's just more of the sa…

Ok, the new titan is out and it upsets the rankings on hwbot like nothing else. Aircooled WR's and GFP's. And then a few months later when 1080 Ti comes everything is back to normal. Why don't we make things better to remove this "downtime" which occurs every time a new titan is released? Imagine if almost every 2D-benchmark was multithreaded and were not divided into categories by the amount of cores. 6950X would rule every benchmark, wouldn't you react to that? Couldn't we do the same kind of categories on GPU's as well? Split up the rankings based on the number of cores/shaders/streamprocessors? Now of course we can't divide by exact number of cores because the…

Since the start of Cheapaz Chips Comp this has been an issue. When subbing GpuPi 1B using gt710 gk208 the gpu is automatically placed in the gf119 category. This is becoming increasingly messy and confusing since a lot of the Comp subs for all three categories are being grouped wrong. Can we find a way to make this clear as to what gpu belongs where and try and clear up the charts ? I'll place subs in approriate category if no one is available to do so, but right now the biggest problem is making a clear distinction between the two. I was looking around the web for more details, but didn't find much as most sites are talking about the more current gk208. I did fid this, …

Are there stats on the number of CPU and GPU categories... and the option to split/search by brand? Also... Motherboard rankings and "others" How many gold medals etc are available on HWBot? What about.... gold medals worth more than 2 points? Could stats like this be added to the site and updated e.g. every 6 months as "families" are rolled out? Been meaning to ask this for a while!

Is it really a window'd bench that takes 10-15 seconds to run, or is it just the hardware I happened to try it on? If so....what's the point of it? What does it show? It generates in the region of 1000 two-point golds.....

  19. I recently had a member of our forum try to join our overclocking team, only to discover Hardware Canucks is no longer on the list of teams available to join in the "My Account" page. I can confirm this is the case from my own "My Account" team, although the "Team Account" page is set to accept membership from all. I would really appreciate it if somebody could look into this asap considering the Team Cup is on currently. Also, I should note this is a relatively new development, as our last new member joined July 20th. So our team was dropped from the list some time within the past month or so. Judging from the newfound brevity of the list, I imagine ours is not …

Hey guys, i think it would be neat if we could see the history of a submission. for example in the geekbench3 multi thread category for the 10x cpu core (6950X) there are results in the top 15 that are using the incorrect OS and might have been done at a live event or might have the rtc application running but for the normal user we can not see that the submission has been reported and cleared for X reason. I know i can see this info for my own submissions that have been reported why not make this public or when a submission has been checked and cleared have a indicator of why the exception is allowed weez out

Since the forum update, I get notifications when i'm quoted, thread tags, mentions, blah blah. I also get an email for every one. I can't see an option to not get an email. Is there one? Un-necessary server work.... especially when Outlook seems to think they all belong in junk Is it possible to be not notified on HWBot when i'm quoted? I have notifications all the time.

  24. At the moment when submitting you can only prepopulate fields from the last ten submissions. That means you currently cannot use it with older stuff or can you? I made a table for that: EDIT: I wanted to embed the table here but looks like I can't, so here is the link applicationId List: 1 3DMark2001 SE 2 3DMark03 3 SuperPi - 1M 5 3DMark05 6 PiFast 7 SuperPi - 32M 8 PCMark 2004 9 PCMark 2005 10 Aquamark 12 3DMark06 13 CPU Frequency 14 wPrime - 32m 15 wPrime - 1024m 16 PCMark Vantage 17 3DMark Vantage - Performance 18 Reference Clock 19 MaxxMem 21 Memory Clock 23 Unigine Heaven - Xtreme Preset 24 Unigine Heaven - Basic Preset 26 3D…

Is it possible to have a Team's hardware library, similar to a users HW library? I'm looking at getting some used (or new to me) hardware but I want to get something other team members don't have and having a teams HW library would make my search a little easier. because the only way I know how right now is to browse each one of my team-mates HW and derive my own list... Let me know if this is possible or if it's already available and I haven't figured it our already. thanks Vin
