• @alibabar - First in the hardware masters rankings by over 10,000 pts even though there are no subs since early 2018.
• @dhenzjhen - owner of absolutely nuts scores like 7x Titan X Pascal GPUpi and quad-Xeon setups. No subs since 2017.
• @Massman - knows for being one of the few to be crazy enough to bench iGPUs and APUs on LN2 outside of comps  
• @8 Pack - owner of multiple 3D global podium spots even though he has been inactive since 2017.
• @Vivi -  still has the 780ti and 290x '03 records after all these years. 
• @S_A_V - owner of the PCMark '04 record on LN2, on Phenom! Still ranked 5th in Russia after years of inactivity
• @Ananerbe - strong AMD bencher in the AM2/AM3 era with many 1M/32M podiums and 8.3+ GHz on Vishera
• @michel90 -  still ranked Top 30 Extreme and #1 in Switzerland after almost 2 years of inactivity. Master of Geforce 200 series legacy 3D and 775 SuperPi
• @CherV - Not sure how I could miss her in my initial list! By far the top female overclocker of all time and hugely infuential around the FM2 / Ivy Bridge era
• @The_Game - Expert on the LGA775 socket, still holding two major Wolfdale 1M golds and being in the very small 725 MHz+ BCLK club
• @Aristidis - Part of the Greek XOC "gang", particularly strong 3D bencher during the Ivy Bridge era
• @TaPaKaH - King of 775 benching and binning but also a hugely influential figure in the overclocking community for more than decade.
• @Xtreme Addict - What to say about this larger-than-life figure? He made excellent LN2 OC guides and benched both 2D and 3D (all the way up to 4-way) at a very high level.

Suggested by other members (thanks @zeropluszero, @Fasttrack, @suzuki, @Bullant and @Achill3uS):

• @dinos22 - for some reason the first thing to come to mind was that sick G3258 32M and also the 4-way '03 that stayed GFP for 5+ years. Aussie OC will miss you!
• @sofos1990 - so many insane 3D scores but the sub that sticks in my mind was the full-on crazy scientist DDR3 alltime frequency record with oscilloscopes in the rigpic.
• @hipro5 - 3D heroics are a little too far in the past for me to judge how amazing they were but that 680+ FSB E8600 all-time LGA775 SP1M record is ridiculous
• @SF3D - Only one to push the REX to over 700 MHz BCLK valid, but that's a silly achievement to point out here  Extremely influential bencher with his own line of pots
• @poparamiro - very prolific classic 3D bencher on chiller, his scores are so ubiquitous in the rankings that I didn't even realise he was retired!
• @chew* - owner of the all-time Thuban 32M SP32M record and one of only 2 (besides Mad22, mentioned above) to achieve sub 12 mins
• @K404 - multi-GPU LN2 God who ran everything and anything around the GTX8000 / 9000 era
• @nachtfalke - the LN2/Cascade/SS version of poparamiro
• @robbo2 - one of only 5 benchers to do 8 GHz on both AM3+ and FM2

Who am I missing? It's kind of weird how so many of them stopped in 2017.

Bunny's Workshop used this bench to competitions in the late 90's.

The benchmark gives a final score.

This one is not on Hwbot 3d bechmarks list, but i think it's worth be in there, and it can be used for Old School is the Best School competitions as well.

It's all in the title I'm looking for a bios for old MSI GX620 laptop.

Particularly version 1.0E --> A1651MS.10E of 08/01/2008
And or version 1.0Z --> A1651MS.10Z 06/25/2008

These are the only version compatible with Setfsb , I use version 1.0P and this one does not work.
Of course all bios links on the internet are dead.
I'm a big fan of mobile hardware overclocking and IGP ?

I know in the past Massman added scores that happened before HWBot existed retroacticvely to the DB wtih pts disabled, is that still something that is allowed / encouraged? I think it would be nice to have because, even 12+ years later this is in the #3 spot.

It's hard to know whether this is really the first sub as the fact that past world records were added "posthumously" clouds the picture. HWBot's copyright is 2004 - present (as indicated by the page footer), does that mean the project was in startup mode 2004 - 2006 with no submissions made or have those subs made in that timeframe been purged somehow?

I decided to find out the history of all competitions both world and regional.

I may miss something, so if you want to tell me what I missed and I'll add it.

If anyone knows what other notable competitions and events were held in these years, please write to us. I will search them for information for the history.

There is so much knowledge and history about overclock that it could be compiled in a great book, with photos, curiosities, interviews, documents, testimony and many other things.

Pretty sure many will buy it and, afaik, the first book only about it.

It could cover since 286 crystal change era until nowadays.

I've got an issue. I had a working motherboard, after mothballing it, i installed some components, put power to it, and low and behold: it worked.

After a cleanup, involving a bios chip removal because corrosion, it failed on me. Nothing goes. Is there anybody (Belgium) willing to take a look at it?

My guess:

1) the socket for the bios chip is missing connections: the corrosion snapped some of them off.

2) the CMOS battery (VARTA NiCd) is leaking, I guess no paths are broken (visual inspection) but i do think it needs a new cmos battery (button battery mod).

I got a rudimentary soldering iron and no expertise/practise in fine soldering work needed for this.

I got all the parts neccesary to revive this PC: PSU, intel overdrive DX4-100 (2x) or a 486/DX2-66. hdd, floppy drive (i guess so)

Ati mach64 graphics, or other VESA graphics/pci graphics

As a bonus: i got a socket 7 motherboard with a 233 mhz amd k6 cpu, also dead. Are you the handy guy, willing to help me out, than do contact me.

Only people with the OC Archeologist role on the front page can add submissions to the database. Some people prefer to just be part of the discussion, but don't have the time to actually add the scores. It's possible to just be part of the forum discussion group and not have the front page roles.

How to manage this?

Three steps:

• Identifying the resources
  
• Collecting the records
  
• Adding the records to the database (and timeline)

I propose to add the resources like forums and OC databases in the resource sticky thread (click). This thread should have all the resources needed to find the results. To identify the records, I have no suggestion yet. Any suggestions from your side? Maybe a discussion for each benchmark? Or a thread in case there is doubt? False positives are not really a problem since the timeline will find the right record at the right date.

To add the result to the database, we will create a similar interface as we made for the live competitions. This interface allows you to add information as well as upload a screenshot.

The interface is not ready yet, but will probably be included in the next development sprint.

And I cannot find a driver for Windows XP and S3 Trio64. No matter how hard I try. Only for WinNT, where the drivers are good, giving the needed 1024x768. Yes, there is the files:

...in WinXP install. However just copy them alone into the system32 and system32/drivers for the sys file did not do anything. I need the inf file for them and I can find only a inf file for S3Trio3D in Windows XP install, but not for the legacy S3Trio64 card. That suxx
