How to bin It seems that the SB-E has the exact same OC characteristics like the regular Sandy Bridge, including the infamous clock wall. It's not as easy to find the clock wall as with Sandy Bridge, but here's a guide that will be able to give you information on your sample's maximum overclock. Under discussion again ... Some benching on x79 Black Edition 0079 Bios working perfect here for 4820k I apologize. Felt lazy today and did not have XP ready to bench proper, but gives good idea about CPU clocks and strength of the board with ivy-e http://valid.canardpc.com/96hzlk It will run same as 1m but I didnt get the screen, no matter Was using very low mass pot and it couldnt handle the full load very well. I will try again with venom Just loaded profile and went, this seem to work well for 6.9ghz just raise vcore a bit. Board is an absolute masterpiece, It never let me down once. Great work Shammmmmmmmmmmmino :n…

For some reason there was never a thread for LCC for this platform at launch, so I say better late than never. Here's a very basic run on a mixed set of 2 x 2300 8-11-8 PIs and 2 x 2200 7-10-10 PIs. Let the fun begin!

Hello, I am trying to overclock an Intel Xeon E5-2690, every time I touch any parameter the pc turns off and the bios goes off, when I try to play the multiplier of all cores, it just lets me modify it to 29, when the processor alone he overclocked at 38. Someone to help me, I've seen him at 4ghz

So I recently stopped using the original release BIOS from 2011 for my RIVE and now I lose one of my sticks of ram every time I try to run 5Ghz regardless of voltage ram voltage/timings/frequency. I boot up the BIOS see all 4 sticks and once I'm in windows and check Task manager I'm at 12GB. Once I reboot to BIOS, my A channel stick has it's frequency set to 1600 and timings to 10-10-10-28 but still doesn't get recognized in windows. Anyone know what could be the cause before I start searching for a different BIOS or switch back to the initial release one?

Here I have a Xeon E5-1680 v2 (which is an Ivy Bridge-EP processor). Since it has an open multiplier, I'm overclocking it. Currently I'm using it on an Asrock Rack EPC602D8A mainboard - yes, there are Xeon mainboards with overclocking capabilities. As a start, I set the all-core turbo multiplier to 40 so that it should run with 4 GHz on all of its eight cores. In heavy tests like Prime95, it will however clock down to 3700-3800 MHz. The reason is that the CPU won't go over its rated TDP of 130 W. Hwinfo64 and HWMonitor confirm that. I've changed quite some BIOS settings, including the short and long duration power limits, but these values got ignored by the CPU. Also…

As all you guys know and tried this benchmark, everyone understand the fact that windows7 would get higher score in HWBOT Prime. But this fact is correct in ordinary situations. Some other guys in hwbot get the good efficiency on XP too but it is obvious that they don’t know why this would happen?!!! There would be specific tweak for 2011 and general tweak for all platforms which have the most effect. 1) BIOS , BIOS , BIOS … You can’t believe how good BIOS would affect this test. Main key is with Rampage IV Extreme and BIOS 0023 (0021 is good too but it is not stable as 0023). In this case game would change and Win XP(32bit SP3 and tweaked) would get higher score th…

I might just have lost bad in the sillicone lottery but I wanted to make sure. The list below represents my system: CPU: i7 4820k Mainboard: Gigabyte GA-X79-UP4 CPU Cooler: Kraken X61 RAM: 16GB HyperX Savage 1866 Power supply: Corsair RM1000i Graphics: Gainward GTX 1080 GLH I can rather easily overclock the system to 4.2Ghz using an additional 0.080 VCore. Anything above that, however, requires me to go beyond 1.43V on the vcore. That seems ridiculously high, even for Ivy. I did try setting the LLC to "Extreme" which at least keeps the cvore under load at the same level but it does not help at all with the overclock. The same is true for the memory. …

Hi folks, First post here, hope I a in the right place for the thread, ok so I have bought an ASRock X79 Extreme 6 and Intel i7-4930k combo. I am trying to find uefi settings for this combo but fresh outta luck, I am using BIOS version 3, I run a Corsair H100i liquid cooler on the CPU and that did my last i72600k @ 4.9ghz very nicely. Ok so I am struggling to use the auto or EZ OC at 4.6, 4.8 forget it but 4.6 is struggling, the fixed voltages are like 1.45 and that to me is too high for sure, ok so guys, can anyone or does anyone know of the uefi settings I should be manually dialing into this combo? I am aiming for 4.8 eventually but just not having succ…

Intel launched LGA 2011Extreme platform at the end of 2011. It?s different position as annual renewed LGA 1155 or LGA 1150. LGA 2011 CPU refresh cycle is longer and having simple product line. CPU usually has 3 models. Mostly is using X79 chipset. LGA 2011 launched three Core i7 CPU,Sandy Briidge-E, in the beginning. After almost 2 years, Ivy Bridge-E was revealed last Sep. The socket is LGA 2011. Pre-owned X79 users just need to update the BIOS. Sandy Briidge-E has 3 CPUs. Entry is Core i7-4820K,3.7~3.9GHz / 4C8T / L3 Cache 10MB. Mid end is Core i7-4930K,3.4~3.9GHz / 6C12T / L3 Cache 12MB High end is Core i7-4960X,3.6~4GHz / 6C12T / L3 Cache 15MB Even 48…

For the last 2 or 3 Day's now, i have been trying really hard to get my OC to 4.8+ but to no avail. Tried ever which way possible, but the problem lies with the motherboard it goes RED in the Bios when it reaches 5.45v on the Core! Can not find a way around this problem, its working fine @ 4.7 and doing most of the Bench marks so far!! Just trying to squeeze that little bit extra out of my set up here, i would like to get up to 4.9 if possible!!! I can boot into 4.8 and 4.9 but the same old story, as soon as you try to use any Apps it Crashes right away oohhh well! Respectfully, AJ.

Hey guys, Just after the opinion of those who have tried benching Ivy-E with both motherboards really. Is it really worth getting the RIVE BE to bench my 4930K sub zero and am I really likely to see any gains other than potentially more ram speed? I.E. would you say it's likely that I would get more CPU MHz out of the RIVE BE or should I just stick to my regular RIVE?? Cheers guys and thanks once again for your help

Okay, this has been bothering me for too long now. If you've followed the X79 benchmark results closely, you will have noticed that there seems to be an issue/bug/trick to the 3DMark11 physics subtest score. This issue/bug/trick is basically a 1500 point discrepancy between "high" and "low". I've been trying to replicate this bug for the last month, but so far I haven't even gotten close to figuring out the issue. I've reached a point where I'm starting to consider certain hardware samples are just broken which, even for me, sounds too crazy to be true. So, let's figure this out together. Booj and SoF's "high" runs So far, there are two overclockers who are hi…

I was benching my 4930K this weekend but I can't change the CPU multi in Windows using TurboV. This is how it usually looks but the tab "CPU Ratio" is missing on my setup. I tried the latest version of TurboV and the BIOS versions 4403 and 4501 I can change the BCLK and all voltages without any problems and the IME is also installed. Any idea what I'm missing?
