  1. I think older cpuz versions are fine with legacy. Another thing is that >1.91 cpuz requirement is issued to avoid known problem with seasonal ranking. Not an issue here.

  2. The only bench that benefits from updating the microcode and I didn't test it. D:

  3. I wrote an article about this, I think Google will translate into your language https://overclockers.ru/lab/show/100550/retrokloking-poslednyaya-legenda-evga Translate via google to English ;)

  4. It is a moot point as he is going to drop a real score soon and leave the rest of us even more in the dust and I am sure he will have full cpuz version visible. In b4 1fps on ln2

  6. Thanks all! @l0ud_sil3nc3 I got this CPU years ago from Doug. I had a few at one point but as far as I can see this is the only one I have left now. (for now)

  7. mic drop. thank you for using a proper cpu to get best single core rather than those awful G470 :P

  8. great article. Very well researched and in depth. I have this board, but i have not used it much.

  9. that is great, sounds like you did a bit more testing than me if it behaves in a similar way in linux as windows, that means the board bios/ firmware is the issue. Once the bios supports it properly, i dont see why it wouldnt be able to run 4.6ghz on water. If you get something sorted out please update the thread as its a really cool cpu and i would love to see them working at full speed

  10. 900MHz slower but 0.2fps faster than 2nd.. thats a good efficiency. -.-

  12. I've had two of these for a couple months. Also skeptical about the seller's claims about them working if they're just dropped into one of those dell servers - he told me the same thing. I'm pretty sure they required some unreleased firmware, like you mentioned. If we could get hold of that firmware image, perhaps we could figure it out - even better if we had a complete running system. I have the same thing as you with the RIVE - 39 multiplier, 42 turbo boost single core. I can get it pulling 275W TDP and it start hitting 92C even with good water cooling - suspect my CPU water block can'

  13. We use GPU score only benchmarks in competitions, though never award points for these. It is an interesting thought though, but if we want to implement your proposal it it has to be done from the launch of a new benchmark. A new benchmark that will be as or more GPU limited than Timespy. We can not do this with older benchmarks as even in the 3D tests that score is heavily influenced by the CPU/memory architecture of the subplatform.

  15. One thing to note is that the board has a built-in CPU OV protection of 2.0v's and will kick in if modded or not, at least that's been the history of it. If this mod can truly negate the CPU OV protection that's a real win, every voltmod I've ever seen done before could never get around it. Speaking of such I still have a couple of these boards around, both can hit 240(+) on the bus with no voltmods done running the right chip but both are A7N8X Deluxe 2.0's, I don't currently own any of the -E boards. BTW the ones I have are also a good alternative like the -E version, as long as it

  16. today i will show you another powercard from a dead GTX480 Lightning , it is a very powerfull card that can replace Epower or any vendor powercard! this one is a DUAL OUTPUT powercard , main pwm it is uP6225A , so it is a native 6 phases pwm , each phase are multplied by drivers uP6282AD , totaly 12 power phase! each phase are powered by IR6725/IR6723 Direct Fet package! second pwm is uP6207AI it has 3 phase , each phase powered by IR6725/IR6721 DirectFet output filter is full of tantalum caps and proadlizer( 3 for GPU and 1 for DDR) it was not easy to see voltage on DMM beca
