  1. I have included in my recent bad ass submissions on socket 462 the tweaks used in notepad in the screen shots.

Is that useful in the submissions then?

Or should I just comment on my own subs with this information?

Also have screen shots that lead up to the final submission. Should I include those in my submission from now on? Sometimes I have like 9 or more screen shots, probably cant fit them all though....

Maybe a simple thought, make a thread at the benchmark section and share what ya need to share. Pretty simple right?

I see a lot of people commenting but talking as politicians, so in fact saying nothing at all. Just repeating and echoing the same over and over again....

Anyway If we want people to share a tweak with the moderation team in the future and they don't want to share it with the rest to keep their edge, we wont give it away. If they themselves want to make it public, go for it!

Standard policy: Moderators will NOT share tweaks.  Point final

Dia hard legacy is slot 1/A, socket A, AGP cards... no problem with 3D benchmarks, just with that old hardware where a lot of transplants, modifications happen. That's Antinomy's turf....

Cool. I have Socket A on the bench right now. :)

I just want to enjoy the hobby as it is.

If you guys want me to tell a mod a tweak, cool. I'm game. Will follow procedure.

Thanks for acknowledging my idea and propose a thread. I think something like that would be helpful to encourage new comers when they visit the site. It's like a little bit of sugar to help them get started off. I'm only looking at this from outside to help. Not go circles with it.

It'll never be hit run and win, and it shouldn't be.

    AGREED!!

But the tweaks thing. Is the cheating so big an issue "suddenly" where we would need to actually address this in the fashion that we are? Should have done that 10 years ago when this was popular. Better late then never??

Where you here 10 years ago? What differences from then till now can you see where we can make these improvements?

Nobody is reaching. You want to know something, get involved in a community. Talk to other benchers. Put in effort. Most benchers are happy to give tips and tricks if they see someone putting in effort vs just handing them everything on a silver platter

No, you must have missed my point.

To make an even playing field, the rules need to state what's ok to use and what's not.

It's not about handing things over.

What was it now? Hit run and win?

I didn't say anything was directed towards you. I don't think there needs to be any public list of tweaks. Its unnecessary. If you find something, inform the moderation team and thats

That wont happen. You know that. The new guys probably dont even know to look.

Find buried threads for tips and tricks?

Look on forums that dont exist because half of them closed from lack of OC interest?

    You guys are reaching here.

Absolutely NOT! If you want a list of tweaks and its sorted as the following, I would be okay with that.

    TeamAU Tweak

    Rauf Tweak

Need Correct Version of Bench for Correct Version of OS and Platform

I don't think people need to be spoonfed shit. They didn't earn that. Do some research, test some shit out, and if you find something that goes fast contact a moderator.

I'm on the correct team for any tweaks, bios mods and anything in between.

Your comment is focused at the new guys not me unfortunately.

I dont need to "earn" anything. I've been participating at the bot since beta rev 1.

    ;)

  7. That was sloppy.

For points, I'm not explaining tweaks to any moderators here after being asked for donations. My donations should give me a free pass to bench however the heck I want too.... lol.

edit: That was more of a joke in case you missed the lol at the end.

There is a world record out there since 2018 that is either cheated or tweaked into oblivion - before we aim for such loft goals as informing mods of every tweak we should aim to at least have an understanding of how all the world records came about.

I also think that CPU-Z should be engaged to make XOC mode a true XOC mode again; for validations it's now impossible to beat old scores because validation in current versions of CPU-Z puts so much stress on the CPU.

I want to know what the mods know.

Cause how the F am I supposed to know which tweak is legal or not?

WR cheated? I figured those where heavily moderated and some had a cheek turned for w/e reason. That's not the cheater's fault.

    Tweaking/Cheating:

Only tweaks which are known to moderators will be allowed.

Hi Roman! Thank you for the update.

1st, will donate when possible. Maybe not often, maybe not much, but want to help!

    2ndly. The small quote above.

To be sure people are fully aware, ALL tweaks the moderators know about needs to be listed in the rules in each benchmark including tutorials and pictures if needed.

Because this will make a fair playing field.

Then the mods and benchers can know the same thing. It would be helpful to everyone.

It's not just that they are tweaks, some of these tweaks are secrets of the trade.

HWBot needs to be forth coming and honest. If you guys know the tweaks, list them with detail and tutorials so everyone can have the same chance.

That is based on the thoughts of just hit run and win.

My 2 cents on the matter.

Just finished a meeting with the programmer, new benchmark point system will be setup this weekend, first on the test uat.hwbot.org, afterwards on the main site.

Awesome! Looking forward to the changes. Thank you for all the hard work and patience dealing with people like me! :D

Happy New Years btw. Hope it's a better one for everybody!

  11. @Leeghoofd it sounds like more of a job than a hobby for you. I do not envy your position at this company.

I just want to run benchmarks. Copywaza is even too much for my old ass to bother using to eek out 0.0010 seconds.

Anyhow. The second it becomes a job for overclockers, like making submissi ok s and filling out forms that take longer than benchmarks, I guess I just enjoy the hobby less at that point.

How about a "tweak" that shaves of 120 seconds in Superpi and for which you almost don't need to do anything besides being a hardcore software guru... You exactly highlight what real tweaking is Tobias and its not what happened lately... Don't take the press Run benchmark to literally ?

Take off 120 seconds? That's easy get rid of W10 and run Xp :P

Please rid of hackers and cheaters like you will with certain benchmarks as a result. That's all I ask for. :)

Life could be so simple if one just pressed Run Benchmark...

You know damn well competitive benchmarking did not start with "pressing start" and getting a score. That's for the gamers at UserBenchmark. And perhaps for modern benching, it's the more proper approach to comparing systems. I think HWBot is much more elaborate than this. And then much more difficult to modernize and implement.

Would it be nice to have just a HWBot benchmark that differs from the rest? Push start, get a score!! It seems maybe using a bunch of 3rd party benchmarks is a loose loose situation for these modern times.

as a minority keeps on doing what they consider as innovating, but in fact are just continuously software hacking the vulnerabilities of the benchmark. Thus ruining it for everybody else.

I'm humble with whatever changes are needed to stop minority cheaters we let stay here.

But from my angle, the second one of our team members gets caught for something like that, he will be released from our team immediately and exposed as a cheat.

Err, wprime is not generally "comparable" on old hardware. There are loads of scores with crazy efficiency and large gaps sometimes in the rankings - maybe even due to people in the past using the dll tweak in the past and not disclosing it.

Also, merry bunny extracting christmas everyone. ?

You could say that for just about every benchmark out there. Numerous tweaks for PiMod for example. Should people disclose the use of TinyXP? At what point is it no longer a dead horse beaten to death with this age old conversation?

I'd wager the popularity of the benchmark would have it left in it's place, but I've already had my vote for this year.

Thing is if we can run it out of the box without messing with encoders, browser versions,.   we can show what a hardware overclock can mean for a setup.

If we start fooling around we will again shoot ourselves in the foot. Just run the benchmark with more mhz

Why are we removing points from legacy yet again? That is the passion for some people.

Would like to see points stay on 04. I have comp points from 04 submissions. As well as global and team points.

Do all the points pertaining to that benchmark get flushed too?

Not against it if we can keep the points from old submissions, just not gain any more points. That would be cool.

Or if someone wrote a tutorial for this bench, cause I know its a pain in the butt to get running for some people, can we keep it then?
