He's been banned from OCN for many years, but nothing in relation to scamming or anything like that. @Wimpzilla, It's definitely him as he was in our private chat for a while and was talking to me about trying to get the ban lifted.
He was a great OCN teammate many years back and I would never see him as a scammer, but I guess people change.

I damaged the IHS on one from using a toothed vise grip but the chip worked fine.

1. Paper launches are nothing new. Make a ruling at the beginning of the competition and stick with it. Don't rely on promises... rely on facts. Can people in most major markets buy the product? If not, don't allow it.
2. You can delid without tools... you're really reaching with this "point".
3. It may not be the only reason but it's a contributor.
I agree with Wulfe that the shuffling back and forth is very unprofessional and it's not new. It feels like the rules change halfway through almost every competition here.

Update on the 6700K. Did some testing last night, the chip is strong. Passes HWBot Prime in W10, 5GHz @ 1.370V. Passes XTU @ 1.430V and is stress test stable at 4.9GHz @ 1.380V.

Anyone know what ever happened here? It looks like there was another hearing scheduled for January 16th but I don't see any updates from that.

I was browsing around for an X58A-OC and found one in Indonesia that was close to Hazzan. I reached out to him to see if he would broker the deal in person and he said he would. I sent him $245 on 9/16/15 to give to the local seller who was asking about $175 for the board and to use the rest to ship it. After a few days, the local seller stopped talking to me and Hazzan said he had backed out of the deal. At this point, he said he would refund my money. As is the trend in this thread, it took a month and a half, with the money finally coming on 10/29/15 after I had reached out to him on FB and WhatsApp multiple times without response. Unfortunately, I do not have the WhatsApp history any more since I've switched phones since then and did not back it up.
I never would have made this public if this thread hadn't been posted.

Hey Leeg, got your PM... sorry for the slow reply... wedding is in less than a month!
I'd like to say a few things. First, @Vellinious, I know it feels like you're being personally attacked. If your result is 100% legit, don't worry about it. Look at it this way... someone couldn't get anywhere near your score, thought it looked suspicious, and reported it. The mods checked it out, thought it looked suspicious as well, and removed it to investigate. Part of the investigation, and unfortunately the most helpful, is usually the user being able to replicate it at different clockspeeds to show the true scaling. There can be massive differences between drivers. The second issue is that even if your run was completely and totally legit on your end, something could still be breaking in the driver or in the benchmark. Judging by the scores being so difficult to replicate, I'd say this is the issue. I don't believe that you cheated, but I do believe that something bugged.
I'd shrug this one off if it gets permanently removed and review your submissions with greater scrutiny in the future. That can do nothing but help you. If your run looks bugged, you can investigate yourself. If your run looks low, you can try to learn how to improve subscores, etc.

Looks exactly like a tweak that would be allowed across the board on any other bench to me. Hell, my XP version won't even run WPrime without dropping in a DLL because I accidentally stripped it out using nLite.
The fact that XP can make use of a DLL from a newer version of the Windows is awesome. The fact that it makes the bench run even quicker is even more amazing! WPrime is fun again! Race to the top! Overclockers pulling out their old 775 boards and re-benching, re-binning, etc. It's so exciting! A new tweak on a 20+ year old bench
It's a legit tweak that doesn't change how the bench runs. Legal and smart AF in my book. But I'm just a dude that doesn't bench anymore
