Tested for one week - way too much video card for 1920x1200
I will probably drop back to a 970.

I don't understand your comment, this run was with four SSDs.

No joy.
I tried both .3dmark.com/pcmv/549232 and 3dmark.com/pcmv/549232
Must be doing something weird!
-
What is wrong with this link? http://www.3dmark.com/pcmv/549232
I get "Validation error: A valid futuremark compare url is required if want to reach the PCMark Vantage Hall Of fame. As only 17 benchmark scores are better than you, you need to provide additional verification" when trying to submit - help!
-
yep, looks good, well done!
-
It would be much higher if it were. Wasn't even available then and I didn't use it when it was.
Where are you at with VS and 2/2.5 acards on SB950 Steve?
Good afternoon Sir,
With Areca 1880/4GB 15xR0 Acard 9010 when using 1x Sempron my max virus scan score is 300-400, actually I don't think I have ever hit 400 with it.
edit - I stayed away from sb950 as it looked to me like raid expert was bugged for pcm05.
edit2 - Correction - looks like I did get 408 once
-
So we all talk about what is right and whats wrong...i found an interesting submit, wich pretty shure is outside actually rules... 1,5G VS with sempron singlecore... never possible on 2 acards at SB;)
http://hwbot.org/submission/2257400_el_gappo_pcmark_2005_sempron_145_23485_marks
Mr. Moose, yes, agree.
Mr. ElGappo, Sir, please delete this submission.
I assume this was with (what is now illegal) sector size change?
-
Nice pics! I particularly like your shoes!!
-
Please fix - points not correct for 3x and 5x pcm05 - see:
http://hwbot.org/benchmark/pcmark_2005/rankings?cores=3#start=0#interval=20
http://hwbot.org/benchmark/pcmark_2005/rankings?start=0#interval=20#cores=5#start=0
Thanks, Steve

how is 9000 MB on Virus scan possible ?
HDD sector size >512 bytes can get you VS 9000+ which is (soon to be officially) illegal and all submissions using sector size other than 512 should be deleted due to "altering the perceived speed of the benchmark program, tricking it to believe it ran faster ".
-
Thank you stevero
Also just another question.. is the WMV Registry tweaking (your encoding score is 3~4 times higher), PowerToy tweak legal ?
Yes, powertoy (originally introduced to us by Master Pro) has been legal for sometime.
-
is software ram disk allowed guys ?
The tweaks i used are the following.. .
SetLOD for 7970
Mouse movement
Are these still legal ?
You might want to wait for Master Pro's press release but I will venture a guess (my guess - not official!) -
1. Ramdisk is a no-no (as it always has been).
2. Irst or amd raid expert are fine provided sector size remains at 512 bytes.
3. SetLOD ok
4. Mouse movement ok.

@ Steve, i allready said, i will deleted:)
I will do it in december when i rebench with high clocks.
Mr. Moose,
The rules say it is illegal when -
"altering the perceived speed of the benchmark program, tricking it to believe it ran faster ".
If you agree that changing sector size is "altering the perceived speed of the benchmark program, tricking it to believe it ran faster " - than you should delete those scores now, it shouldn't have anything to do with "... December when I rebench with high clocks."

I only see problem in sector size change.
Agree completely Mr. Moose, so you will delete your non-512 sector submits?
-
I think that 1812 run was the highest vs I ever had, I doubt I will ever be able to get close to that again.
edit - Probably done with Areca4GB/15xAcard but could have been onboard 4xC300
-
... breaking fundamental hwbot rules ...
take this sector size for example, by changing the sector size you are tricking the benchmark into giving a score thats not real, changing the percieved speed of the benchmark
Mr. Pro,
Can we at least get an official read on removing scores that are "tricking the benchmark into giving a score thats not real".
-
I think a progress newspost might be good.
-
I wouldn't change sector size if i were you - leave it at the default value (512k?)
"The standard sector size of 512 bytes for magnetic disks was established with the inception of the hard disk drive ..."
-
Doubtful. I'm chasing Stevero, I want his spot in the US rankings... But my plan is to do it in 3D mostly.
I'd only buy strong storage again if I can't manage to catch him without it. It's too expensive for my taste/wallet. Plenty of points out there other than PCM05.
Given your oc skill I think you will make quick work of me
-
Steve without a valid submision link or full submission text you got no proof it was actually run at 512...
Yep, absolutely true, hopefully the wrapper can catch non-512
-
But if you and IMOG sold their arecas and i-rams ?
I think you have reason would we have to add
yes - I have been selling my storage stuff but not all of it - yet!
-
I think Steve are right , only allowed, rst an amd r expert with 512 sector side "Only"
Completely concur.
Also, I recommend we do not preclude folks with pcie controllers (areca, lsi, high point, ...) or pcie SSDs - these should be allowed, provided they all keep sector size to 512.
