Hi there,
Hope this is correct forum... couldn't decide between rookies, general or this one, but chose this one due to it being the platform i'm on.
Little backstory... i have a 7900x on a Prime-A. When i first got it i went into the BIOS and synced all cores to 44 and left all voltages on Auto. I loaded HWinfo and ran small FFT's with Prime and then noted the maximum voltage drawn on each core. They were all drawing between 1.2 and 1.25V except for 2 of them, 1 of which isn't a very good core and i've already finished clocking it and just need to try downvolting it some more. The other seems a good core in a way though. At 4.4GHz on Auto voltage it drew 1.334V, and i'm currently running it at 4.7GHz at 1.225V. However, to get to 4.8GHZ it requires 1.32V, and at 1.344V it POSTs and boots at 4.9GHz, although i haven't tested it yet. But at 1.32V @ 4.8GHz running small FFT's it reaches 74°C after about an hour. All other cores are at or near 85°C, which is acceptable to me and is where i'm planning to keep their frequencies.
But this other core... is this strange? Is this voltage ok because of the relatively low temperature? Is something awry? Anyone got any thoughts?
Thanks
