could you make one for the mocf please you are a legend in my book
Hello Splave, here it is: https://www.mediafire.com/file/loa5mpu5nqmfn2h/Splave_Z17MOCF7.51G.zip/file
and these are the mods:
I've taken your previously modded BIOS (that we know is perfectly working) and:
- i've updated the OROMs to the latest versions, in particular the RAID OROMs are working and are tested by my-self (https://www.win-raid.com/t19f13-Intel-EFI-quot-RaidDriver-quot-BIOS-Modules-52.html#msg97820),
- added the R0 CPU Micro-code,
- the BIOS contains the CPU micro-codes which according to specialized forums (whose results for the 8xxx series have been personally tested and for the 9xxx series have been confirmed by friends) are the best for overclocking (on average on different motherboards and with different CPUs), in particular for the performance and the VCore applied in relation to the frequency managed, compared to the previous and subsequent CPU micro-codes.
Cheers,
KK
P.S.: you are a legend in my book... ?
SoniX (the U.B.U. developer) and Fernando (the chief administrator of Win-RAID) are also legends that i personally thank for the immense work they do for the HW freak community.

can you guys make a bios to use r0 processors without the performance loss of the new microcode XD
Hello Splave, as you quoted the post where is linked a modded BIOS for the ATX version of Z170 OC Formula, i modded the Zizu32 7.60 BIOS adding an old CPU Micro-code (Rev. "BC") so the R0 would not suffer of performance loss introduced with the latest "CA" revision:

Has this been tested with 8C/16T?
Hello Synth Wave, this BIOS is the one prepared by Zizu32 and i've updated it using U.B.U with latest CPU micro-code and OROMs.
As Zizu32 said it has "tested last weekend and everything works just perfect with 8C/16T" so you can flash it and enjoy your 9900K.
RAID OROMs are the latest released, are working and has been tested by me ( https://www.win-raid.com/t19f13-Intel-EFI-quot-RaidDriver-quot-BIOS-Modules-52.html#msg97820 ).

Thanks for that.
How's the overclocking?
Is it compatible with the 9900KS?
What are the VRM temperatures like at 5 GHz? As they are 6 phase unlike the Z170Ms 4 phase.
BIOS is 9900KS ready but for those who want everythings up to date i've modded it with latest OROMs and CPU micro-code and you can find it here:

details of mods are indicated here:

Catch it, guys
Killkernel, I've developed mine with CoffeTime.
Added 4 microcodes:
Skylake
KabyLake
CoffeLake (with i9 9900K P0)
and last one for R0
Tested last weekend and everything works just perfect with 8C/16T.
Thanks a lot Zizu32 for sharing it!
Oh yes...the good "old" CoffeeTime... ?
Is your BIOS patched for correct core selection and DSDT and CPU SSDT to support 16 thread?!
Thanks again for your work! ?

Got perfect BIOS 7.60 working with i9 9900K P0 and R0 on Asrock OCF full ATX.
I'll share it, just need a place to upload.
Hello Zizu32, is it the 7.60 that is available on ocxtreme.net?! (http://ocxtreme.net/viewtopic.php?t=23)
If you'll send me via PM your modded and perfectly working BIOS i'll host it to my MediaFire home.

Ok, I'm telling whats wrong:
- no turbo (stuck on 3,6)
- no C-states either (all time 3,6)
- RAM OC doesn't exist (on OCFM I'm pushing 4133). 7.40B giving me like 3000 max
Guys, everyday I'm sitting on 7.51F on OCFM, motherboard works perfect on every tusk.
I'm really hoping to get such BIOS on OCF like this one I'v got on OCFM
Sorry to hear that…
A friend of mine have successfully used it without issues on a i7 8700K @ 5.0Ghz AC with G.Skill RAM @ 3.600 Mhz.
What revision of Core i9 9900K do you have, P0 or R0 ?!

Whats wrong with the 7.40B with the Z170 OCF?
The modded BIOS that i posted i think is working correctly because to date there are 52 people that have downloaded it and no one has sent me private messages to tell that something was wrong …

bios update no need for me on mocf with 8086k. Have u try on old bios?
Thanks for your feedback RULE!
I didn't try with BIOS supplied by NickShih (http://picx.xfastest.com/nickshih/asrock/Z17OCF7.51A_CFL.rar) because I had the doubt it was necessary to update the CPU Micro-code to correctly recognize and manage the Core i7 8086K.

Thanks a lot for your efforts Splave!
Nick would you be so kind to give us some infos about the hypothetical release of modded BIOS for ASRock Z170 OC Formula that have full support of Core i7-8086K?!
Thanks to both and have a nice day.

I just found my way to this topic via another site and I m pretty excited about this MOD. Some quick questions though:
- so I boot regular (skylake or Kabylake), go to BIOS overwrite my 7.60 with 7.51D and the insert Coffe Lake CPU (modded)?
- does my Skylake work with the modbios afterwards, or not? I read somewhere above that Kabylakes work
- The 7.51 seems to not include the Meltdown/Spectre microcode, correct? So the CPU is not protected then?
- What exactly is those 2 pins that we are connecting? (on Kaby and on Coffee), so what am I connecting?
- do you see the chance that Windows will get an update/patch/Microcode that will prevent this mod from working ?
- I assume the power draw of the 8700K is something higher than 6700K (which I own), the OCF should be able to handle this, right? I dont suppose I need to connect the full 12 EPS-pins? (Currently I am only using the 4+4, but the OCFM does only have 4+4 anyway). Thanks for answering this.
Hello flautze!
I've checked this Rev. 7.51A/D BIOS and it's updated with latest CPU micro-code for SkyLake (C2), KabyLake/CoffeLake (84) that Intel released to mitigate Meltdown/Spectre (https://newsroom.intel.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/11/2018/03/microcode-update-guidance.pdf) so you'll be able to use your i7 6700K and/or any KabyLake/CoffeLake and you'll be "protected".
As stated by Splave you have to flash BIOS with a SKL/KBL CPU, shut down the MoBo, swap CPU and power-on.
Cheers,
KK

Hello asdds22!,
If I have not misunderstood you disable the Intel turbo mode, the C-state and then set the CPU multiplier to 46 ...it seems that you want apply an OC in fixed mode, is that correct ?!
