  1. Perhaps this request could be re/considered, otherwise I think that the same question will continue to pop up.
  2. If you mean will they provide different entries for the stage, I don't believe they will. Both 6800K and 6600K use the Devestator core and would only provide a single entry for the competition. You would have to go down to the 6400K (Scrapper) to get a different GPU core within the Richland chips.
  3. Ticket ID: 1817 Priority: Low Can the core on this GPU be changed to the \"Scrapper\" core from \"Devestator\". GPUz shows it as Scrapper and I believe it was confirmed as such.\r\n\r\nhttp://www.hwbot.org/submission/2450915_
  4. This was posted elsewhere in response to that error, maybe it will help...
  5. As always! Hard to keep up with all the Team Points you keep putting up!
  6. Is this with the new version of Aquamark wrapper? V 2.26 work fine with my FX-60 and stripped down XP. It wouldn't identify the chip proper but I figured it was because even the BIOS didn't recognize the chip.
  7. Got it now, maybe a note on the stage's page so that everyone is aware of the 'loophole' (not really sure what to call it ) Perhaps you should change the core name to Devestator 7000 series and Devestator 8000 series so its a little easier understand. When I initially searched around the database for cores to use I totally missed they were considered different. Thanks for the clarification!
  8. I think I'm confused now. So using a 6800K and a 5800K would make for two separate submissions despite the fact they are both Devestator core? Is the list that Lucky_n00b provided an acceptable list that would get a country to fill the stage? Or would it only register 3 submissions considering there are two Devestator cores and two Scrapper cores listed?
  9. Don't forget, A4-3400/HD 6410 - Winterpark is also there and a confusing number of mobile chips that have a few more types (Ontario and Wrestler, I believe)
  10. I like the idea of this, a lot of good features. Its very good that you don't have to leave a league to join the Series like you do in Pro-OC. Its also nice to get those guys who aren't in Top-100 involved and this looks like a good way to do it. Its also very good to see a little personal/individual recognition instead of the over emphasis (my opinion) of team based play at HWBOT. Excited to see how this all comes together.
  11. Reading through the arguments back and forth on this, it appears, that major opposition to the exotic chips is the fact that "its easier to get points" and should be changed to better reflect the degree of difficulty involved. For a great many of the people demanding this they have no points in exotic chips and don't even know whats involved. Yamunsa explains what is involved and how much tweaking and setups is required and gets this: . His point being that the points awarded should be reflected in how much time or effort was imposed. So I don't understand the argument against the exotics. HWBOT wants to lower the points because supposedly they take no effort, everything is at stock, and the setup is a breeze and its instant allstar. Unless there is work involved and its 75% overclocks and lots of setup and hardware that was never intended for overclocking then it doesn't matter how much time is involved the points should be lowered as K404 says above. Its a confusing and very fluid argument, trying to have it both ways. But I would bet, you would make a thread if they suddenly decided to lower the value of SLI setups. I don't really know if awarding 60 point globals to exotics is beneficial to HWBOT as a whole. I do believe that making it a two tier system based on subjective criteria like "I feel it doesn't take enough effort for the points" isn't good for it. It just caters to one of HWBOT greatest problems, well top 3 in my opinion, the "I don't have it/own it/interested in it therefore it must be banned/reduced/eliminated from HWBOT". The same attitude raises its head in many other areas as many of you are well aware, its no different here. What is so wrong with having the same equal treatment applied across all setups? I don't even care if the 60 points is lowered, I'm just saying it has to be the same across the board. Excluding certain segments of the membership just because other, more mainstream, members think they aren't real overclockers is never a good step forward. Tweak the globals all you want in my opinion, just do it fairly across the board. Don't tell a member of HWBOT he isn't a real overclocker, or an overclocker not as valuable as the next guy, simply because he chooses to bench non-mainstream hardware. Damn shame too, the fellow has been trying to kick start an overclocking community over at HardwareCanucks.com (shockingly mainstream overclocking with real 3770K and everything) and was one of the guys to spearhead that websites impressive showing at Team Cup. If he hadn't gotten interested in HWBOT because of the exotic setups and lent his reputation as #1 EL to it, I can't think it would have done as well or spread the good message of HWBOT as far.
  12. I'm glad to see you are consistent, it says alot for your integrity. Perhaps you misunderstood the reason I posted it, because I think its excellent that a dual core without a K designation can grab 60 globals. Is it so hard to see the progression from someone who has that dual core Ivy, wants to check out what HWBOT is all about, finds out his overclock is pretty good, moves onto other/better hardware because he is hooked by the fact he got some initial, first contact joy from his score? Is the fear that we are going to see dual core Ivy/Haswell binning, 100 chips at a time, really worth destroying yet one more way to hook newcomers? Especially on a platform that actually provides little/no benefit from additional cooling as your score demonstrates. I'm honestly not trying to get a debate about it going, I see the direction that HWBOT has chosen as is their right/choice. I have voiced my thoughts on it before and don't think my view is widely held. I hope the chosen direction is the correct choice, its completely my opinion to disagree. I hope to be proven wrong.
  13. I wasn't submitting it was "proof" HWBOT isn't engage with the community, I'm just disappointed that it decided to latch onto this idea as proof it IS engaged with the community. Listening to the members that have the most to gain from stamping down points from so called exotic chips doesn't seem like a good idea. You know my views on how much emphasis HWBOT places on current, highest end hardware and how it creates disincentive to new members. Providing one less avenue for members to gain some recognition and shine on the site doesn't seem a great idea. If these "exotic" setups are so easy to get points, they wouldn't be exotic. I don't plan on harping on it, since I'm the only one with the view. I did know that, couldn't resist the sarcastic response. Some were indeed at stock, not by choice I would guess, much more likely hardware related. In those areas where the hardware allowed it, there was even battles for top spot using latest chips. All I'm pointing out is that HWBOT treats those members as second class overclockers. I guess we will see you check off the "No points" option for this submission then. http://www.hwbot.org/submission/2396937_der8auer_xtu_core_i3_3250_384_marks 60 globals for 3% overclock? Or because it wasn't at stock you are comfortable with it? I hope that time will tell that I'm wrong about it. Don't know how the submission rates/account activation are improving/decreasing at HWBOT so all my own opinion. If this change helps then I'm all for it, I don't have skin in the game since I'm not interested in those setups but can only empathize if I was.
  14. Addiction to exotic chips will do that to you. Or the Hardware points are broken somehow, I'm receiving zero points in the Hardware section as well.
  15. Sad day for HWbot, too bad core misunderstanding of what drives HWBOT still alive and well. Can't wait until all points are disabled unless you are using latest CPU (4770k) and latest GPU (Titan). Very disappointing, I'm sure policies that treat certain segments of the site like second class members will continue to grow and expand the membership.
  16. Is the exact same hardware restrictions going to be in effect for Class B? Meaning that 2600K will be allowed? Or will the restrictions be limited to 4c/4t for Intel chips? EDIT: Guess what I am asking is 2600K considered less than 3570K?
