  1. Hi all, i wonder if anyone has any experience with these cards or perhaps some tips/ideas? Ive got two of these but they have different bios settings burnt in at the moment so id like to restore them to 'factory' before experimenting with SLI a little. The problem im having is that when i boot with safe mode enabled on a card i get the popup from gpu tweak asking if i want to restore the card when windows loads but it then quickly dissapears before anything happens. Anyone got any ideas? Will this not work on win10 i wonder? Thanks peeps
  2. *UPDATE* Ok so I seem to have it working now! I figured, hmm only thing I haven't tried is tighten / loosen the CPU retaining bracket / arms. So tweaked with the 4 screws on that for a while and BOOM, xmp all 32 gigs :) Early days but so far so good! Thanks for your help
  3. Thanks for that pal ill have a go through this guide asap and see what happens. ?
  4. This was my initial thought when I first got into x99 on the 5930k, the memory controllers weren't really strong enough to go higher than 3000 without serious voltage and degradation. However most if not all 5960x are pretty capable of 3200, this is why I went for a 1680v3 in the end (got a good price also). Being a Xeon its a higher binned 5960 and the memory controller is very robust - it purrs along in the Rampage V Extreme and I'm sure I could easily take it to 3600 when I get the time. The chip does 4.8 at 1.325v 99% stable. Its both puzzling and frustrating however that I cannot get the Edition 10 to behave the same way as its a "nicer" board to look at anyway. I may try one of the Extreme bios chips in the Edition 10 and see what shenanigans happen.
  5. Hi guys, I wonder if anyone can help, I have a Rampage V Edition 10, 1680v3 and 32GB G.Skill 3200Mhz CL14 RGB and I am really struggling to get the kit to boot with xmp enabled. I can get the system to boot using memory training but it will always leave out slot b1. If I disable training it will halt on code bd Without xmp the system boots fine with all 32gigs. I've tried booting the pc with just one dim in slot b1 but get code bd. I've tried each stick individually in slot a1 and they are all fine, the kit also works great in quad channel providing it's not at 3200Mhz. Ive tried the sticks in every order I can think of, I've tried a different cpu (5930k and the 1680v3), ive tried system agent voltage, vccio voltage. What is odd is the system booted fine and ran very well with xmp enabled for one evening when I built the system but the next morning after shut down I encountered the bd code and always from slot b1. I've tried a couple of bios vertions including the release version and the most recent two. The release bios initially worked! But the a couple of reboots later the problem returned. I am currently using a rampage v extreme and the system works flawlessly with XMP enabled! - 1680v3 @ 4.8Ghz, not tried OC the ram yet. My problem is clearly with the Edition 10 but what could it be?! I've heard rumours of some of these G.Skill RGB kits getting corrupted SPD information when the board tries to manipulate the RGB lighting. the board clearly isnt broken because it did/was working, it just doesn't any more? Any help will be really appreciated! Thanks
