  1. Oh, I see. So though the result is not submitted properly, it will get right after some time. Interesting point. How long exactly is "too old"? I take it you know a lot of people spend a lot of time benching old hardware for the whole purpose of getting points on Hwbot to help the team, because they cannot affort new stuff, don't you? Your answer is a straight kick in the nuts for those guys...
  2. It's even worse: Your other PC has to have Vista installed, so you can install Vantage to upload the saved result ^^
  3. Why not just add the Performance setting? Having 3 WRs for a single 3DMark is kind of strange. Furthermore you need a Full HD monitor to run the Extreme preset. Btw, I tested about every DX10 video card with Vantage and a lot of CPUs. See the XS news for more info: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=186009
  4. The performance preset is the default benchmark. The other presets are made for reviews, so you don't have to enabled FSAA, AF, high res by yourself, which makes benching a zillion video cards less time consumpting. Furthermore Performance is the only mode basic users can see a score, so adding performance and reward points for it would be the only option that makes sense if you want to add Vantage. Without rewarding points, you can as well add all presets, because nobody will care anyway.
  5. YOu also have to pay for games. I don't understand why you think it is bad. It took them more than 2 years to develope the benchmark which costs a lot of money. Charging 7$ for a key is more than just fair. Just because we were given the benefit of getting the older 3DMarks for free and most other benchmarks are open source makes us rebel about paying for Vantage now. Don't get me wrong, I don't like spending money too, but thinking about how much time I spent with 3DMarks, even 20 $ are a good invenstment, considering I will use it for at least 2 years.
  6. I voted for performance with points. I fully understand your point, but you have to buy a graphics card and the rest of the PC too in order to run any benchmark. With Vantage you have to spend what? 7 usd? That is nothing compared to what even the cheapest system costs. And Vista is as expensive as XP...
