To improve stability in this case: VDDG 1.15v, SOC 1.28v, disable DF Cstates. Depending on the CPU and FCLK, may have to control temps -120C ~ -170C. I typically use 1.35v ~ 1.55v SOC just to get as high an FCLK/Cold bug margin as possible. Do not be alarmed when it resets when temperature changes, pcie and fclk needs to retrain when temps change. Also sometimes there is temperature hole so going lower than it hangs may help. FCLK Biggest problem on the platform 1200 default freq and supposed to go 1:1 with memory for best latency. Improves performance but limited, ~ 1800+ on air and 1400 on LN2. FCLK instability includes hang at postcodes such as ‘07’, stuttering in OS, drop performance in Cinebench. CPU has FCLK cold bug. Improve FCLK Margin by using 1.15VDDG (too much will hang) and 1.3+v SOC. Since VDDG is sourced from SOC so SOC should be higher. VDDG only takes effect at 1400+ FCLK so under LN2 you need to set 1400. Higher usually fails during LN2. Enable LN2 mode, Use the Load LN2 profile as a base template, this uses low vcore so you can save exit when it’s not cold. You will need to do this before -40C to avoid cold bug. You need 1400 FCLK + 1.15v VDDG and 1.35~1.45VSOC. Post codes 07 : too high fabric / fabric unstable (can press reset 2~3 try but If not solved You need to reset the flck clock after lowering the temperature to -120c.) F9 or 23 : High Memory Clock / Tight Timings (Memory reset need) other code : (can press reset 2~3 try but If not solved You need to lower the temperature to 100c ~ 120c.) About AMD Limitations Safemode cannot restore back to stock memory settings as this takes place in the ‘PSP’ which the BIOS has no control over at that point of time. Either you have to clear cmos or wait for 5 times of post code ‘F9’ to get into AMD’s recovery mode. AMD’s recovery mode restores every AMD option back to stock, including timings and CLDO voltages. Because of the above, try not to clear cmos during LN2, at most go safe mode if your settings can be sustained with 1.5v DRAM, since BIOS will apply 1.5v for safemode when LN2 enable. IF you clear cmos, FCLK will go back to Auto and CLDO VDDG voltage will too. When cold, FCLK needs to be 1400+ and VDDG 1.15v if not Fabric will be unstable so you need to torch up to maybe -60c in this case. Therefore test your Memory settings on ambient first. Cold CPU improves Memory OC so you don’t need to worry about MC cold bug. TRY NOT TO CLEAR CMOS WHEN CPU IS COLD Enjoy!
  2. Image is a screenshot from the MSI livestream for new B550 boards. There are no pins of the DIMM slots visible on the back of the board. Does anyone have an expert opinion on this (extra costs, benefits) ? As far as have seen, it is the only AM4 board with this feature. The Crosshair Impact and X570I Aorus do not have it.

To improve margins on the Fabric, two key rails to control are VDDG IOD and VDDG CCD voltage and SOC voltage. VDDG is sourced from SOC voltage and therefore will not be able to exceed SOC voltage. On ambient 1.0 VDDG CCD + 1.10 VDDG IOD is enough to max out FCLK. On LN2 you want around 0.9 VDDG IOD and 1.20 VDDG CCD. On the chipset, when bclk is overclocked, the SATA would all drop out. For BCLK oc use a pcie raid card or NVME, and this will do. Typically margins would be better for devices under the CPU PCIE lanes. TRY NOT TO CLEAR CMOS WHEN CPU IS COLD IF you clear cmos, FCLK will go back to Auto and CLDO VDDG voltage will too. When cold, FCLK needs to be 1400+ and VDDG voltages if not Fabric will be unstable so you need to torch up to maybe -60c in this case. Use performance bias to improves scores, CBAggressive will BSOD within 1 minute so use the tool to execute it then bench then execute Gentle or defaults after bench. Post codes Hang 92/98 too high VDDG CCD Hang 90/07 too high fabric/ fabric unstable Hang 20/21 too tight timings, can reset a few times to try to pass. Hang 94, often with LN2 bios, can press reset.   6. Hi Guys, This is my 2nd attempt at OCing a rig. My 1st one was a 3930k and I tried overclocking it to 4.1Ghz and it is solid, never skipped a beat. my second rig is a 1950x that goes like this: CPU: 1950x Threadripper with coolant spread as per Gamer Nexus advised pattern COOLER: NZXT Kraken x62 MOBO: x399 Gigabyte AORUS RAM: 4x16Gb (64Gb) Corsair Vengeance 3200C16R PSU: Corsair CS850M 850w VIDEOCARD: GeForce GTX 670 (yes, laugh! ) I tried everything, can't even OC the RAM to the XMP level by flicking the RAM XMP switch in the BIOS. 1st sign of mucking around with the RAM Speed and I am stuck in reboot loops ad infinitum. I got the CPU running from 3.4 to 4.0 fairly stable, just upped the vcore to 1.25V and left all else automatic, just changing the clock multiplier. It's just a pity I can't up the memory a little more, as it seems that the Zen Family are mem bandwidth hogs in order to get high scores in benchmarks. Do you guys know of a guide to go about at experimenting a little more with this setup? I am a bit lost, as I can't find a forum talking about this setup with clarity. My Cinebench is below 2800cb and Corona Benchmark 1.3 sits at a depressing 5.6 Million Rays/s I see guys having well above 3000cb and 6.5Million rays in Corona benchmark 1.3 so I suppose I must be doing something wrong...
  7. Hi there ! (sorry if my english is bad ) I overclocked my CPU today at 2.95GHz. The last time I tried more than 2.8GHz i got a blue screen. The only thing that I needed to do was to set the Vcore to 1.5V (1.3625V before). http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=878448 Now, my problem is that I can't go more than 2.95GHz because my CPU need more Vcore. My motherboard (ASUS A8N-SLI DeLuxe) can support up to 1.65V but it allows me only 1.5V. How can I set more Vcore ?

  10. Hello gents, what are the rules for Trinity and Richland dual graphics? AMD abandoned the Llano numbering scheme (e.g, 6690D2), but now instead I see people making submissions for individual GPUs (like 8670D or 6670) with dual graphics enabled using Trinity or Richland iGPUs. I searched the forum but couldn't find info. Shouldn't there be a separate GPU entry for each major category of dual graphics, since enabling it changes core config and speed significantly for DX10/11? So for example, maybe a GPU page for "HD 6670 + 8670D (Richland)"? Thanks any staff for clarifying.
  11. Hello guys! Just a few pictures and results to share with you from a nice bench weekend with Trinity. Nothing exceptional since the cpu was pretty slow and unwilling to clock high in single threaded benchmarks, but I did have a good time anyway. No 3D at all, I think we've all seen what 7660d can do and I wasn't too eager to fight with OCP limits and whatnot. Just pure cpu performance in XP 32. Some random pictures of parts in my rig. The 8400gs did a phenomenal work... displaying the dekstop Super Pi I was surprised to see the FX-8350 being slower than Bulldozer in this benchmark. I mean, BD is pretty bad as it is... So I guess expectations should be held low for 5800k. A decent 14,109 sek @ 6730 MHz is what i achieved. Efficient but I would ask for more cpu MHz please Astonished by this shitty performance I went on to Spi32M, which have become some kind of favorite benchmark. Sadly I couldn't get copy waza working on this new platform, neither did RAM above 2400 Mhz stay stable for long so all in all only a mediocre time = 14 min 15 sek at 6,6 GHz. IMC working at 3,4 GHz was a nice surprise though and it sure did a lot for the efficiency. (same settings with 2,9 GHz IMC = 14m 20 sec.) IIRC this is pretty much the performance of a <5 GHz Deneb. Pifast Thankfully Piledriver is faster here than Bulldozer. Not many people have bothered to run Pifast on 5800K so I took a pretty easy silver cup, of course a long way to Hicookies awesome 7,2 Ghz run... more than my cpu even can make a suicide screen So after having witnessed this powerful display of single threaded performance I went on to Wprime. Or actually UCBench but that crashed constantly so I couldn't take away Leeghoofds gold. Wprime 32M worked like it should though, 3rd place at 6520 MHz. Really maxed out cpu so I guess CherV and Hicookie didn't go all out in 1024M... Wprime But I did! Ignoring the fact that this mobo has a mere 4 phases to the cpu I jolted through 1.9 Volt. Worked like a charm. ~250W of power at the wall so I guess it's ok even for this mobo. Looks good, but who cares about 32M. What really kills hardware is 1024M: I had 6350 MHz crash so I guess this is pretty much it with this cpu. One gold, one silver, one bronze And some extremely unstable benchmarks below. just a quick max bclk during warm up.
  12. Hello everybody! I jumped on the Llano wagon as well and I'm quite surprised to say the least I'm currently testing an A6-3650 on a Gigabyte A75M-UD2H for a review. Everything's perfect, I've learned the system and its "tricky" spots, I've already hit 2500MHz RAM with air-cooled CPU/RAM and I was about to move to SingleStage testing @ -40*C. What's my problem? Using an 8800GT I can hit around 145MHz FSB on air-cooling, maybe a little bit more. Using the 6530D though (iGPU on A6-3650), the last stable FSB frequency is 120MHz FSB sharp, which means that GPU tops at 444MHz (stock) *+ 20% = 532MHz core clock. I've seen others on hwbot benching on air with > 140MHz FSB while still using the intergrated GPU. How is this possible? I've tried everything, from voltages and CPU/RAM multipliers to VGA RAM size, EHCI Async Data Cahce and stuff - whatever I could find @ BIOS I already tried. Can you help me out a bit? Maybe it's something I missed, I dont know... Maybe it's the fact that I use the VGA output of the UD2H and not the DVI one?
