Still no Intel Option ROM.

And no way to create an array in Rapid Storage console in windows, the create button is missing.

Weird...

GunnzAkimbo, it's strange since the any BIOS update doesn't to anything to modify the Intel ROM. Just update ROM version from Intel if any.

So far what I could think of is Intel RAID ROM reduced its display time and you need to be quicker to press "Ctrl"+"I" at the right timing.

Tried that, it's like nothing displays at all, just blank screen.

Maybe the non official ROM done something to it.

Rapid storage (V15) works in Windows because if i change it to AHCI, rapid storage in windows fails to load.

Hi to all, here my specs:

5960x@4,37Ghz

Corsair H110i GT

MSI X99A XPowerAC Bios A20

64gb ram G.Skill Ripjaws4 3000mhz CL15

MSI 980Ti Golden

SSD Samsung 950 PRO NVMeM.2 512gb

CoolerMaster MasterCase 5 Pro

Sound BlasterZ

Ali Antec 850w Platinum

Here OC specs:

Cpu ratio: 35 (4375mhz)

Vcore: 1.21v

Cache ratio: 29 (3625mhz)

Vring: 1.152v

RingOC2: 1.35v

Strap: 125.03

DRam voltage: 1.35v

With this config i've run at least 2 month without issues (heavy rendering and gaming) but since (i think) i've added another 4*8 memory kit (now is 8x8) my system start to fail one boot on ten with the " all settings Were reset to default values" due to overclock fail message.

The only resolutive act is to press the discharge button on the MB and then i can return to my specs without any issue on the regular use of the system.

Any suggeston?

Some pro parameters to tweak? (all the rest of the parameters are in stock configuration)

Thanks! :)

Ye i'm running at 3000cas15 but i want this :D

Except for one boot at week the system is still going good..

I will test... in the case a 4x16 kit will be more stable?

Im using 8x4GB sticks at 2666Mhz C14-14-14-36 stable, BUT if i go to 3000 or 3200 its no go with the failed settings message.

2666 C14 is hell fast anyway. With default cache hits 62GB/s read in aida64.

Also don't use XMP, just select memory speed only.

You can have enhanced memory controller enabled and auto volts.

I use AUTO for everything and ENABLED for several settings, not a single manual volt and it does fine.

4.6Ghz 5960X + 8x4GB mem 2666mhz and no tomfoolery.

Had a good test updating to W10 1607 and it went fine with 331 apps installed as well.

prefer fire and forget settings.

Okk thx i would try to enhancd memory controller and VCCIO ;)

EDIT: i've checked that 2 values and in AUTO i've that:

CPU SA Voltage 1.328v

VCCIO Voltage 1.248v

WTF

Edit: now i put a manual 1.15v for each one, XTU passed, heavy render passed, i will see if the boot issue is gone..

thats 125mhz QPi and 3000Mhz memory settings.

Stay at 2666mhz and they will drop to 1.200 VCCSA, and 1.050 VCCIO on the 100mhz QPi.

Ive tried 3200 ram and 4ghz cache and all that, it just makes the volts higher.

I have a tough time running cache at 3700~3800MHz on the original X99A Xpower using BW-E while overclocking RAM (no issue on Asus). Board likes to halt at Code 91.

If you stop at 91, you could try to add some VCCU voltage to see if it helps.

In the case, Enhanced Memory Controller may help on this? What is that option doing specifically?

Thanks! :celebration:
