I.nfraR.ed - K6-2+ 550MHz @ 675MHz - 8min 2sec 950ms PiFast

Featured Replies

2.8V. Need cold for more, but I was mainly testing performance.

Still not as good as Strunkenbold's subs.

Board can do 140FSB stable, but without external cache.

With external cache enabled it goes to 125 (or maybe 130, have to check again).

However, this has to show that there's something wrong with kotori-san system. As I said, his score should be much better at 700MHz as it is now.

Very nice indeed. You show who is the boss there! :)

What are the ram timings? And what is the black box mounted on the PSU? Some added stabilization or...? :)

Pretty nice score anyway. Since my only one Socket 7 board cannot get past 83MHz FSB, I did not stand a chance in the K6 battle (not to mention not having K6 ATM in the first place), but the result is still IMHO impressive. I wish I can run modern graphic card that give plenty of resolution as well. 800x600 suxx :(

Ram timings: as tight as possible, 2-2-2.

About the black box: this is my second bench PSU with volt-modded 3.3V line. The box is just a display to monitor voltage.

/2.8V. Need cold for more/ WOW!! I have K6-2+ 550, but my CPU not stable with only 2.3V on air, K6-III+ 400 stable only 2.4V on air... You have very strong CPU.

It gets unstable at 2.9V (random bsod or can't load windows), but 2.8 is fine :D

I don't remember voltage when I benched it on LN2. Probably the same or lower.

Will try to somehow mount the chiller, 700 should be possible.

Mine seems hungry for voltage. Strunkenbold ran his 550+ at 660 on air with just 2.4V.

Maybe he just got a good voltage regulator on mobo and good caps for the Vcore regulator...?

/Maybe he just got a good voltage regulator on mobo and good caps for the Vcore regulator...? / I don't think so... K6 is not too dependent on VR.
