Posted August 14, 20168 yr Read before voting Okay, lets finally address this tweakfest benchmark once and for all. I see two possibilities: - Update rules: (and apply them retroactively) Remove the 220 MB/s limit and disallow any "tweak" that boosts a subtest by more than xx%. A clear list of allowed tweaks an disallowed tweaks will be made. Pro: - It will still get hardware points. - It will be moderated/moderatable. Con: - Unfair for old results, those with 220 MB/s limit will most likely be beaten and those with previously allowed "tweaks" will be blocked. - Downgrade it to beta benchmark: - No hardware points. - Not really moderated. August 14, 20168 yr Don't touch ma pointz! You could always have a note somewhere on the main pages for the benchmark itself that the benchmark is what it is in terms of being a tweakfest, and that it will not be a high priority task for mods to investigate results that are questionable, but not obviously wrong. Then whoever participates knows what he/she is getting into.
August 14, 20168 yr It is irrelevant to me as I absolutely hate the benchmark, but voted option 2 as a lot of people poured their heart and soul into it
August 14, 20168 yr Have some submits but preffer to just turn the page with PCMark05. Had lot of fun with folks in the days with global points. Will vote in poll. Thanks CNey! Enviado desde mi A0001 mediante Tapatalk
August 14, 20168 yr Don't touch ma pointz! Agreed. Does anyone still run it these days? I used to like the bench even bought Acards for it but I havent run it for ages since the cheats wrecked it for everyone. Its not worth setting up for on modern hardware no one runs it and you only get 2 hardware points for a first with a 6700k there has only been 8 subs for it. So really its not going to make much difference either way
August 14, 20168 yr What is the minimum of votes to take a decision? Enviado desde mi A0001 mediante Tapatalk
August 16, 20168 yr ...and if the answer is "no change", another poll will pop up later - until there are enough people who want it gone. Might as well do it right away if no "no change" decision is final.
August 16, 20168 yr Author Sigh Poll will be purged from guest votes. I don't know why unregistered users (guests) can actually vote. We will disable that.
August 16, 20168 yr It has always been the same with PCM05 in the past. If you want to change something you simply have to go for it.
August 16, 20168 yr Never got into it specifically for the reason of the amount of work, knowledge and money needed and then to be able to be cheated after doing all that, no thanks. And it never helped that it seemed ever year or so, there was another discussion about it in one form or another, just never seemed worth it. Send it down, keep the current rules so whoever wants to still bench it can at least "compare" it to past results. OT- Maybe we should also clean up this thread
August 17, 20168 yr downgrade to beta and replace with full points for TimeSpy. Put a DX12 bench on the roster. Edited August 17, 20168 yr by jpmboy
August 21, 20168 yr pcm05 and pcm04 (strange why not have pcm02) for old system,do not touch their points,in the list and so very little of benchs for 486-p3 cpu...i agree with rules update and with correction allowed tweaks Edited August 21, 20168 yr by Remarc
August 23, 20168 yr Many of us spend much time trying to understand pcmark, it wouldn't be nice to see disappear points overnight.
