KabyLake initial testing/batch

Testing criteria

 

5000mhz core, 4500mhz cache, 3600mhz mems (if possible), test for lowest vcore for Cinebench R15!

 

For scaling testing:

 

Increase core by 1 multi to check scaling and post your results (with a screenshot)

 

 

List proper batch nr, the CPU VID, the Vcore needed for 5GHz, CPU delidded yes or no, the Mobo type and used cooling

 

See post #56 for my results

You should set up a voltage point for everyone to test,like 1.35v cinebench,for exeample.

5 ghz it's not relevant anymore as most of them do that,but how the scalling is up to 1.35v is relevant to any air/watercooler .

I heard of o few "specimens" that do prime 95 at 5.3 ghz@1.35v ,maybe in the next month other monster cpu's will be unveilled .

That's impossible with my CPU without deliding. Hitting the limit at < 1.3V on AIO and 23C room temperature.

Can't do much more than 5.1 on AIO, because of temperature.

In fact 5GHz is a good comparison point regarding temps... From the ones (35 pieces) we tested last week, the best that could do multiple runs of CB R15 (5000/4500 & mems at 3600) with a non fixated DH 15 was at 1.23Vcore on GB Z270X SOC. (Non delidded)

 

Average voltage was around 1.285Vcore

I can do multiple passes at 5.

Raising uncore to 4.8 needs bump in voltage to 1.23V.

Then for 5.1 cores, it needs around 1.28V.

VID is 1.104 on Asrock OCF.

 

I will test on LN2 and don't see a point pushing hard on air/AIO for 5.2 - 5.3 with temps hitting well above 90.

Cache seems typical to Skylake or even worse,among the cpu's i tested for 5000 cache lowest ones were with 1.30-1.31,4800 worked ok for 1.23-4 tough. Best cpu ever i touched would not crush when set 5000/5000 1.27,for complete stabilty in 32M and stuff would be 1.285V for 5000 cache :)

Being a dick, can I suggest one more thing added? Ram modules and size.

 

Personally I will try to see if 2x 8GB vs. 2x 16GB(sorry wasnt 2*32, lol) makes any difference to how much uncore and ram it will allow at each vgpu

 

Finally: VID, default, I think it was Splave whom listed that on facebook, I somehow find that interesting too...

 

If nobody else reports in, I could start a spreadsheet... Think it would make more sense Massman doing it, if he already has 35 chips listed.

 

Will test my chip tomorrow, I became uncle a few hours ago, hence why not test the chip yet^^

Oh and I meant 2x 16GB, I will test both, just for the fun of it, have 2 kits at home, and 3rd waiting pickup.

B-Die is true as for benching at the moment.

What do you think of the VID part? Worth putting there or not^^
