Memory Frequency WR Progression (2002-2017)

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

In preparation for Computex, I've done some work on building a timeline for the Memory Frequency World Record. Below is a dump of the current list. Anything I missed?

Sources:

  • HWBOT database
  • CPU-Z (canardpc) database
  • CPU-Z (x86-secret) database
  • Tanuki's Memory OC Ranking (DDR2)
  • Tanuki's Memory OC ranking

In the opening post I expanded a bit with information from the x86-secret.com database. In the end there were only a couple of extra entries in the table.

Most remarkably is the record streak of JtChen2002. When the DDR3 ICs hit the market, he captured the record on September 28, 2007, with a frequency of 1178.9 MHz. It's only until more than a year later, on October 5, 2008, that his final backup of 1304.1 MHz is overtaken by Hungarian Over@locker886 with 1341.2 MHz.

That's pretty insane. Apparently he's also still in the industry!
