Biostar TP45 HP + E8400 Price Estimation

Featured Replies

Looking to see what my Biostar TP45 HP board would sell for. It can do ~655MHz valid with Wolfdale-6M. Not tested DDR2 OC.

Also, was wondering what 5.1/5.0/4.9GHz valid @1.45V E8400 chips are worth (if anything)?

Also, what about high FSB E2140/E2160/E6300?

Biostar:

Assuming if not CPU-limited (binned CPU and/or on cold) these boards usually do 675-685 with stock heatsink.

Were your 655 done with CPU on air? What did the same CPU do in other boards?

A few months ago these boards were listed on eBay for $60-80 by a Chinese seller but they are gone now.

If you're patient, you can source 1-2 boards per year from German eBay / forums for 30-40€ a piece.

E8400:

Based on my results from 100++ chips, I would say that 5.1GHz 1.45V suicide is pretty much as good as Wolfdales get.

However, core is only part of the story with E8400. Who cares if it has a 6.5+ LN2 capable core if FSB can't do 700?

I've no idea if this is the right methodology, but I also bin E8400s on FSB. My best chips can do 630 32M on air (on a TP45HP) and suicide around 670, which might be board's limit.

E2140 / E2160 / E6300:

I sold quite a few of these last year.  You can gauge the prices from my threads:

@TaPaKaH I only spent a few hours trying to max the board and I got thr same result with CPU on water/phase. Anyway it seems all E0 will do >675MHz valid on phase anyway based on my testing. I also have 5.2GHz valid chips. :P

@GeorgeStorm TPower seems to have better FSB. Not tested past that.

@GeorgeStorm: The TPower has more features but, based on my experience (~20 Biostar boards) the OC is pretty much the same.

Derp, just realised that most of them are the chips I bought from you. So I guess I have prices already.

Good to know you guys have so good chips, makes mine look like garbage :(.

Someone told me 100e on the basis it was rare (which Sam seems to have proved otherwise) and not-terrible FSB (+ profile).

But idk, hence the thread.

I'm all over the place atm need to sell the chips I do have binned and actually finish binning the others. :/ Kinda threw this up to help pay off Team Cup debt.
