I'm still noob with am2+, are these cpus capable of CL3 @>400MHz? Certainly not on this board, maybe on DFI? but i'm no expert for these either
December 28, 20196 yr Yes, sure. But generally speaking, you need very high CPU frequency to match the score of a DDR3 system. https://hwbot.org/submission/2232551_i.nfrar.ed_superpi___1m_sempron_145_14sec_219ms Edited December 28, 20196 yr by I.nfraR.ed
December 28, 20196 yr Author Crosshair 5z can do at least 420 unganged, if your chip scale like my old chip 430+ seems doable ?

December 28, 20196 yr Author For fsb on am3 I did: 890fx ud7 max fsb 435 (with 960t geek3, 412 sempron), Saber r2 / cross 5z 420+ (with sempron) m4a89gtd 430 ( with ganged weak performance). With cross 4f 4e 5f I'm unable to do 400. Biostar 890fxe can do 420+ but have serious problem for cpu-nb clocking.
December 28, 20196 yr I got a M4A89GTD Pro myself, just never managed over 395 on that board with this sempron... Might be me sucking at the platform, but ganged didn't seem to help for me... (only tested on that one board though)

But is there any significant difference on the same board (say C5FZ) between early and latest bios versions?
December 28, 20196 yr Author I tested some sabertooth bios. The 1903 seems more stable on ln2. On air I reach the same reference.
