Must admit I have no idea what the current restrictions are as they keep changing, but for the 3D stages I guess it would make sense to adjust the GPUs available to be in line with the "era" (read: DRAM type). I.e. 7000 series Nvidia for DDR max if sticking to 939?

That's for tonite, to keep the gpus sort of in-line with the platform used.

X265 1080p ddr2 stage can we please include Woodcrest 4M with the conroes? (it's basically the same core but for 771) :)

Will look into it

I see on x265 it looks like asrock is banned to combat c2q on ddr1. Can we just blanket band s775/771 on all ddr1 stages instead?

S771/775 stays linked to ddr2, hence why.

On 3dmark99 currently it requires 6 core on x99, since the core count is specified can we allow xeons for this one if it stays x99? 1650v3 may be cheaper than 5930k or 5820k and because core count is specified it won't be an advantage except in cost.

Yes core count will be removed. Will add Xeons

A couple of questions please

1) That notebook stage , will be for real notebooks ? or will include notebook zombies too ? (meaning notebook boards on test benches heavily cooled down).

2) HWBOT x265 Benchmark - 1080p - DDR SDRAM LIMITATIONS (Only use ASUS, GIGABYTE, Abit, DFI, MSI, Biostar motherboards.)

Random pick of those manufacturers or we want to avoid something ?

.... and this one please ( i dont get it)

  • 3DMark06

LIMITATIONS

  • Only use DDR3 SDRAM memory.
  • Use 3 processor core(s) in total.
  • Use 3 videocard core(s) in total.
  • Xeons CPUs allowed
  • Unlocking cores allowed, disabling not

I think not allowing you to vmod and use subzero cooling on notebook boards would defy the point of OCing.

1) As long as it is a real notebook motherboard I don't mind what you do to it, but no socket adapters and such to bench a mobile CPU on a desktop motherboard or memory

2) DDR X265 no ASRock Dual Sata socket 775 quadcore combo, but can't configure that, so have to go the hard way

3) DDR3 3D06 : 3 core CPUs and 3 gpu cores need to be used, either you go Tri SLi or Crossfire or combine a dual gpu card with a single GPU one. Unlocking CPU cores allowed to get a 3 core CPU. Disabling cores is not allowed!

DDR: 1core CPU and GPU, DDR2: 2 core CPUs, 2GPUs, DDR4: 4 core CPUs and 4 gpus in total : you see the pattern ?

I think he was confused because it says Xeon CPUs allowed.... Pretty damn sure there are no unlockable/3 core xeons (Coldwoves collection doesn't count :P)

Allso I'm not 100% sure about what is allowed in the notebook stage cpu wise, so here's 2 of my scores which ones are OK?

Removed the Xeon part already, a copy paste gone wrong...

For your scores:

None of the two count would count

  • The one that could count is the 9980HK, but too bad it is an ES cpu
  • 9900K is a desktop CPU

I've got a bit different point of view.

"Punching" a laptop board on a test bench (in my eyes) is no longer a laptop device.

You can still oc a laptop (in some cases) without taking it apart.

Anyway

I pointed out what i wanted to say , it's not me making decisions.

We can move on

:)

1)About the notebook thing ... i wrote above

2)Could be easier if limitation is ... everything except Asrock XXX ?

3)I got it ... it was the xeon part that got me confused

Thanks

Liking the idea of banning the "best" sockets for mem freq, few questions. For ddr2 s775 cpu is banned, but should s771 be banned too? Otherwise it effectively doesn't do much... https://hwbot.org/competition/team_cup_2020_Memfreq/stage/5000_ddr2_memory_frequency

For ddr3 s1150 is banned, does this means mobile chips run on s1150 are okay since again those cpus "aren't 1150", and further more if I'm dumb enough to risk my chip can I run z170 for ddr3 mem freq? https://hwbot.org/competition/team_cup_2020_Memfreq/stage/5027_ddr3_memory_frequency

For https://hwbot.org/competition/team_cup_2020_3dMU/stage/5040_ddr_3dmark03_--_geforce_100_series are you sure about 100 series? There's like 5 cards in that family total and was oem only https://hwbot.org/hardware/videocards#key=geforce_100_series https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GeForce_100_series

https://hwbot.org/competition/team_cup_2020_3dMU/stage/5042_ddr3_3dmark_-_fire_strike_(graphics_score)_igpu no mobile cpu on s1150 as per usual?

And assuming this will change https://hwbot.org/competition/team_cup_2020_3dMU/stage/5039_ddr4_3dmark06

i dont see that the geforce 100 is an optimal choice for this section, there is 5 cards available in that series that i can see , GT100 to GT150, and as noxinite said, there isnt much available for purchase as i looked at the ebay worldwide search as well ,

i had a look elsewhere and found 8 cards of that series...and at a guess the gts160 is more rare than the gt150 to find

See that 3dm03 in 3d mashup got changed to geforce2, at first I was worried that they couldn't run the bench as they're dx7 cards and 3dm03 is a dx9 bench but according to hwbot results seems they all can so the bench must be able to run at feature level dx7.

They can without issue, they probrably woudn't score as high as a DX9 card but they can run it.

3DMark03

All tests have been compiled and linked with DirectX 9.0 libraries. However, only a small part of the benchmark requires DirectX 9 hardware. As DirectX 8 hardware is now commonly available, a major portion of tests requires DirectX 8 hardware support. A small part of the benchmark can be run with only DirectX 7 compatible hardware. Note that 3DMark03 is not appropriate for solely evaluating DirectX 7.

In simple words

GT1 - requires a DX7 capable vga

GT2 & GT3 - require a DX8 capable vga

GT4 - requires a DX9 capable vga

So , geforce2 cards will only run the GT1 test to obtain a score.
