For sale is some hardware I no longer need, checking interest here before I throw it on ebay.

PPFF preferred but other options possible. Prices include domestic shipping. Can ship international, generally buyer covers shipping (exact price varies but add $15-20 for first class international) but willing to negotiate.

All tested on Z97 OCF, tight subtimings, all voltage numbers are value set in BIOS. Unfortunately I lost my screens, but I can do some quick tests if requested.

First, some value PSC. I tested a couple dozen value sticks and these were the only ones that were any good. Targeted towards people who want to get their foot in the door on DDR3 benching. :)

6. Apacer Value 2GB ("XEJ-"): My best value stick. Does 1200MHz 7-11-7 tCWL8 1.68V, 1200MHz 7-11-7 tCWL6 and 6-11-7 tCWL8 1.91V, 1300MHz 8-12-8 tCWL6 1.86V, 1333MHz 8-12-8 tCWL6 1.96V. (Note: 1333 tRCD12 only seemed to work when setting tCWL6.) Price: $25 $20 $18 $15 $10

7. ASint Value 2GB ("XEE-"): Does 1200MHz 7-11-7 tCWL8 1.75V, 1300MHz 8-12-8 tCWL6 1.92V. Price: $10 $8 $5

15. Pentium G3258, batch 3419B298. Does 4.5 1.17V, 4.9 1.38V, 5.0 1.45V 32M. Seems to run a bit hot. Price: $20

18. G.Skill Pi F3-17600CL7D-4GBPIS (2 sticks). KO-8117 PCB. One working stick, other should be repairable. Price: $40

  • Stick 1: 1200MHz 7-10-7 tCWL8 1.71V, 1300MHz 8-12-8 tCWL6 1.87V, 1333MHz 8-12-8 tCWL6 1.93V, 1375MHz 8-13-8 tCWL6 2.03V.
  • Stick 2: One SMD is broken off (visible in picture) so it does not POST.

More to come later.

Some above average G3258s from a few dozen that I binned:

1. Pentium G3258, batch 3418B967. Does 4.5 1.20V, 5.0 1.5V 32M. IMC does 1375 8-12-8 1.92V channel A 8M on PSC (no 32M due to stick limit). Price: $20 SOLD

2. Pentium G3258, batch 3422B337. Does 4.5 1.10V, 4.9 1.28V, 5.0 1.47V 32M. Dice: 5.5 R15 at 1.55V or less, 2.3VIN. Price: $20 SOLD

3. Pentium G3258, batch X518C495. Does 4.5 1.18V, 4.9 1.35V, 5.0 1.44V 32M. Price: $20 SOLD

4. Pentium G3258, batch 3412B733. Does 4.5 1.19V, 4.9 1.34V, 5.0 1.44V 32M. Dice: 5.5 R15 at 1.55V or less, 2.3VIN. Price: $20 SOLD

5. Pentium G3258, batch 3418B976. Does 4.5 1.17V, 4.9 1.34V, 5.0 1.43V 32M. IMC does 1375 8-12-8 1.92V channel A 8M on PSC (no 32M due to stick limit). Price: $20 SOLD

8. Transcend Value S/N 7254 1GB ("XEN"): Does 1200MHz 7-11-7 tCWL8 1.80V, 1300MHz 8-12-8 tCWL6 1.96-7V. Price: SOLD ELSEWHERE

9. Transcend Value S/N 8230 1GB ("XEN"):  Does 1200MHz 7-11-7 tCWL8 1.75V, 1300MHz 8-12-8 tCWL6 1.90V. Price: SOLD ELSEWHERE

10. Pentium G3258, batch X619D536. Does 4.5 1.17V, 4.9 1.37V, 5.0 1.45V 32M. IMC does 1375 8-12-8 1.92V channel A 8M on PSC (no 32M due to stick limit). Price: $20 SOLD

11. Injured F3-17600CL7D-4GBPIS. I bought this kit a couple of years ago or so, my first good kit of PSC.

When working they did 1333MHz 8-12-7 tCWL6 tight ~1.92V 32M, S/N 1086 did 1400MHz 8-13-8 ~2V but the IMC could not handle PSC very well, hence subtimings. I still have never found a kit as tRP-strong -- 1200MHz tRP6 32M stable, 1300MHz tRP6 1M, 1333MHz tRP6 bootable. (I found images of 1300 8-12-6 single channel 1M, 1333 8-12-6 single channel CPU-Z.)

Long story short, there is most likely eraser stuck in some BGAs. As I recall, one stick will not POST at all (maybe it will on a more forgiving platform -- I have had "dead" samsung work on AMD), one will barely do more than JEDEC. Maybe they can be cleaned up and restored to working order. Price: $30 $25 $20 $15 SOLD

12. Mushkin Redline Enhanced 998805 1600C6 (2 sticks). KO-8117 PCB. Price: $35 $30 SOLD

  • Stick 1: 1200MHz 7-11-7 tCWL8 1.74V, 1300MHz 8-12-8 tCWL6 1.91V, 1333MHz 8-12-8 tCWL6 1.96V.
  • Stick 2: 1200MHz 7-11-7 tCWL8 1.71V, 1300MHz 8-12-8 tCWL6 1.87V, 1333MHz 8-12-8 tCWL6 1.94V.

From how much were these G3258's binned?

Edit: And where would they come from?

Located in US. From my 52 samples these are "above average", good for 5.0 but no 5.1. (Outside my own testing I have seen many many worse chips.)

I was just wondering what cooling was used for binning those G3258.
Stock, water or advanced air?

240mm AIO, in brief tests should be almost the same as strong air.

Post updated, all listed G3258s spoken for, I might have one more I can add.

About those G3258 and possible reserve versions and buying them. Never mind that for me.
I just noticed the 2nd G3258 I bought and could not test yet (defective motherboard) seems to be doing Ok as well. So far 4.5GHz PI 32M @1.21v with my Noctua NH-U14S.

I thought Sam had bought all good ones in the Netherlands...

What PCB do the cursed Samsung use?

B83U854, 4x. They do not POST in Z97 but will POST and OC fine on 990FX if inserted into certain slots, in a certain order, posting in between each stick insertion. But they do work! Not sure that would apply at all here, but just thought I would mention it.

Did you try and clean the contacts for that pi’s? That can give issues. Even when they seem to be clean.

Yep, I clean contacts and slots regularly.
