HiCookie posted this on his Facebook: http://mb.zol.com.cn/slide/222/2227113_1.html#show

This looks like a retail board: right heatsink orange DIMM holders and grey SATA port.

Why did they shorten the NB heatsink on the memory side?

I could see maybe making it smaller for more room in the CPU socket area, but they didn't need to shorten the width towards the memory because nothing goes there.

The silver metal sticking out under the NB stands out like a sore thumb :(

I know looks aren't everything and this does not affect the OC-ability, but still.... Hopefully that will at least be painted black in the final retail revision.

...meanwhile, inside Marketing Man's head:

"Wow, what's that crap mobo... it doesn't have nothing interesting to speak about!

It should be something like low low low end mobo... allright let's see... WAIT it has usb3 ports! Here it is, finally something, on this silly mobo, to speak about!" :D :D

Rampage Extreme, Classifieds was long time before OC boards.

World first OC board? That's even not funny mktg BS.

Rampage Extreme - useless features = OC board

Classified - useless features = OC board

It's not because you cán overclock, it's an overclocking board. It's not because you add OC features, it's an overclocking board. It's not because you add high quality components, it's an overclocking board.

The "World's first"-claim is just the MKT way of trying to send the message. Funny/BS/..., doesn't matter. It's just marketing.

Oh rly? So we can have crap PWM, and be stuck in BIOS always....as long as we mimic GBT's non-useless features layout. Great power delivery and overclocking features are the things that define a good overclocking board, not whether they left off a couple ports and had an internal struggle trying to figure out if they could get away with it.

Gigabyte employees have admitted they kept certain features so the board appealed to a wider market, so to be devils advocate,

X58A-OC - useless features = OC board?

The thing that makes a great overclocking board is... that it overclocks well. Feature set is irrelevant, other than cost aspect. This might be a great board... we don't know because theres still so damned little info on it!
