hey can you point me the way of a guide on the basics of overclocking this CPU as i know the multiplier is locked on theses CPUs and I'm struggling to find any sources of how to overclock it that explains it well. thanks in advance

    It's fairly simple.

    You know how the CPU frequency is equal to the ratio multiplied by the base frequency ?
    Well if the ratio is locked, you can increase the base clock (FSB) to get a similar effect. Keep in mind however that the base clock also impacts cache and memory frequency.
