I was trying to run RX 9070 XT on LGA 2011-3 but no luck so far :(

The systems seem to boot but there is no image displayed all the time.

  • I forced PCI Express setting in BIOS - no matter if Auto or Gen3 or Gen 2 or Gen 1 - doesn't help.
  • Tried disabling Resizable BAR - no effect.
  • Used either DisplayPort or HDMI - doesn't seem to matter.

When I switch back to RX 6800 XT everything runs like a charm.

Any ideas appreciated!

test the GPU in a newer system to confirm it’s not a card issue.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that the card runs perfectly fine in new systems (AM5 / LGA 1851) 😅

For anyone concerned I have an update.

I have seen on YouTube some Brazilian guys investigating the topic.

It is funny that RX 90x0 cards would run just fine on X79 platform, but on X99 it is absolute no-go. But there is an exception - for some reason ASRock cards work just as they should.

With modded amdvbflash I flashed SAPPHIRE RX 9070 XT PURE into ASRock RX 9070 XT Steel Legend (the PCB is basically the same). Card worked flawlessly on a newer system and gave hope for X99. But unfortunately it didn't help 😢
