CPU-z validation issue on win xp

Featured Replies

I’ve recently set up a platform with Am2+ board and Phenom II cpu but couldn’t validate my CPUz frequency score.

Tried 2.15 X32 cpuz and previous ones as well (2.16 doesn’t start on my XP SP3).

Tried 2.15 on w10x64 on different pc and had no issue validating.

Cannot validate the score on XP even if I move the cfv to other PC and upload it from there.

Always Code 5 on upload

Anyone recently validated something from XP OS?

What should I do except from obvious W10 and install? Am I missing some stuff on XP build (it’s fresh generic ISO with chipset drivers and that’s it).

Hello, CPU-Z no longer fully supports Windows XP, and the online validator often rejects XP-generated .CVF files — “Code 5” is a known result of this. Nothing is wrong with your setup.

I think you should generate the .CVF on XP, then validate it from Windows 7/10/11 using a CVF created by a CPU-Z version that XP fully supports (1.78–1.90 range typically works). Newer 2.x versions produce CVFs that the validator won’t accept when created on XP.

I just validated a frequency score generated with CPU-Z 2.15 and Windows XP SP3 32bit with windows 11 and it worked: https://valid.x86.fr/38v9cl

You could send your cvf. file to someone else to try it. I did nothing special with my XP setup.
