Cmaker caught cheating changes his name to infomaxparis to please msi his hopeful sponsor

Featured Replies

Why even bother? It damages the rankings even more that you allow him to have a second name that is breaking records for MSI lighting launch. He can have a score with 2 ranks above other people dropping them an extra place. This sucks, I tried to ignore it but it makes no sense. Subbing for country cup is also a sham. Can you share with me why he is being protected by hwbot? This is turning into a total circus. A total Cirque du Soleil in this case. What am I missing here? If I wanted to be entertained I would just call SlinkyPC.

  • Thanks to Allen for creating this thread. I’ve been biting my tongue, but I can’t stay quiet any longer. This whole situation is genuinely upsetting, and it’s shaken a lot of my faith; not in HWBOT or

I think people need to pause, take a breath, and think about what the actual facts that we know are. A lot of people are speculating about what's happening, which I think we need to all slow down on.

I’m feeling the same way about this situation.

I understand that the PR/marketing for a release like that realistically trumps all hurt feelings about it, but it just seems counterproductive to ban/suspend and then just allow subs to go through anyway? Sure, they might get deleted but will 100% get subbed again on the main account. Like no consequence even happened at all.

Not a fan of something like that being kept quiet, especially for someone at the top of the leaderboards. If they are celebrated for achieving the top spot, why not the same treatment for a fall from grace?

In the overall big scheme of things no one will know a thing. But to the community and the people who are here actively contributing every day I believe it’s sending the wrong message about hwbot

So the guy’s got the nerve to do it again. After that major discussion a few years back at the OCWC where others also got away with it. Another step closer to ruining our small community.

Wasn't he caught cheating in G.skill online qualifier in 2023, along others?
I believe it was on Cb15 scores.

First of all it was NOT A BAN which was imposed, it was a 3rd degree Block which means according the General Rules a 2 month disabling of his account. With a BAN scores are deleted from the Bot, which is the next step if he gets into trouble.

Secondly I do not share the tweaks or whatever happened with anyone, as this works very counterproductive for my already "compromised" status.

Thirdy Salty was going to put down an official statement of what effect the Tweak of Cmaker was on the concerned benchmarks. Now after some info provided by a fellow bencher, he probably will revise his idea for new points,... but I leave that up to him as he's more into 3D than I ever will be.

Me and Salty agreed on allowing Cmaker to submit the scores for the Country Cup and would allow him to submit scores for the MSI CES launch event, but the latter under another account. Limitations imposed submitting only allowed with points disabled, plus removal of the account and the scores after CES. Which is something we will take care off this week. so all rankings and co will be restored.

Now even when a submission has points disabled it has an effect on lower subs, this will be adressed by Tim with the new Y-Cruncher ranking which will give the correct points for the ranked submission.

For the OCWC drama, CBR15 was a bad benchmark choice, where the "G.Skill judges" took the decision to remove all bugged scores, which lead to situation for the ones that tried to fool the system were also out of the loop for the Live event.

So we are open for people with experience to lend a hand at moderation, maybe you can show us how it should be done...

Why? Surely with a history of cheating leading to the strictest punishment short of a ban he should not have been allowed to sub scores for CC and delaying the publicity to after CC.

Does this not stain the whole French scene as complicit and colour their CC win, with 7 scores of his all on LN2 counting to the final count? Hell AFAIK the other French benchers weren't even informed of this at all.

I get that for the MSI event there are other factors at play and those scores are being deleted.

I gave you our side of the story and not debating this decision anymore as it had been taken before end of country cup... This even together with a 3d party who wanted clarification and that could live with the taken decision.

Now define cheating for me plz

Look our 3D Moderator decided that according the existing rules the problematic scores were not valid for a ban, just one step up to block level 3.

Does it ease your mind that some people react only now, while they were well aware already weeks ago... typical OC Scene behavior... move on...

Regarding that point, the very vast majority are completely unaware of that.

Either way, I absolutely condemn this and agree with Allen.

This is why I wanted HWBot to post an official statement on the website's front page and probably also on the discord server

Wow! Things are really going off the rails among the French!

What actually happened to turn it into such a big deal?

Do people even know exactly what happened?

If he cheated, then where and how? We want to know how it happened. If he really cheated, he deserves a ban. Its simple, everyone should be treated the same

I totally agree! But for now, nobody knows anything and everyone is talking.

Strange that the only ones who actually know what really happened aren’t saying a word.

Why wait? “He did this or that…” — that’s it, then we can judge.

Does anyone know the exact facts, do you Bl4ckdot? Again we do not share the "tweaks" and it was not a cheat according the General Rules...

Look If all Frenchies agree, no matter what he did, I'll pull all of his scores from Team Cup and perform a recalculate, does that make everybody happy?

No one know including me and that's why this situation is shit. What I meant isn't about what exactly happened, but the general situation that people don't know.

Either way my message is pretty clear in the sense of breaking the rules = BAD.

If that wasnt a cheat, then why cant you tell what its about? Is it such a secret?

Simply because it’s going to be hard to justify such a sanction

There’s no reason for this to be secret, it’s a complete nothingburger.

We do not care about what the "tweak" was. I have faith in HWBot moderation to judge if a score is legit or not.

However I believe it would help to know for sure that it was intentional, how many times it has happened, on which scores, and when.

As long as you do not provide facts, people are free to pick a side, and it will divide the community.

  • Crew

Last time: According the rules it is not worthy a Ban

GEnRules.png

Facts I will and can't share as than we have to expose the "tweak"

The concerned scores have been pulled already by the 3D moderator.

Was it intentional some might say yes, others might say no... choose your side

I don't think there's much appetite for pulling his scores from CC, they're all legit as far as anyone can tell. And retroactively punishing guys where there's no chance to make up for it seems silly.

Either letting him continue to partake in CC and not tell anyone in the French group so that they could plan for it or suspend him and inform the people while they still had a chance to do something about it. Punishing them for their great results and achievement now doesn't help anybody especially because none of them were aware. I was only asking what the thoughts behind the decision taken at the time because there is no clear info on when it even happened.

I had only pointed it out in the first place as your message made it clear it was identified while CC was still on. CC is only even incidental to the situation because it's actually just about the rankings at the top.

Thanks for this, you are all amazing... you just destroyed everything we worked for the last 4 years. so much gratitude...

cyaz

idk what Ive destroyed, sharing the story with other XOC guys that follow me ? If u worked for 4 years to cover for cheater (how many live comps he attended ? ye, I can guess why) its not something nice. All of this would not happen if it was handled properly from the start, said semi-publicly at least in this community, what happened and how its gonna go, and not trying to throw it under rug, its bad looks and not fair for French guys or people benching Country cup or Lightnings.

Well you get the Fox OC news award, congratz on that achievement, clickbait achievement unlocked

yep I hope all the 80 people that saw my ig story, which is majority XOC people, gonna reward me for the clickbait.

The tweak or cheat ppl use will never get shared with the public.

In fact some of the ppl commenting here have already enjoyed the fact that we don't disclose it.

Im still not sure what's going to happen with the other things, but for sure some rules and bug will need to be explained in details because some ppl can't understand basic things.

I can say it to everyone, then everything will be clear to everyone. For now, you are just hiding the info
