I don't think it's a great idea, atm there's too much "cheating by accident" ...........half the community would be banned. Until ppl start reviewing their score themselves before uploading the situation won't improve.

On a more serious note it would be good in theory but this thread showed that it can get personnal and that would lead to unfair decision. Most ppl would like hard rules, but they're also the first to say it's unfair when they themselves make " mistakes" (I'd like to point out that many of them do know all the possible little tweaks, but when it comes to those bug/tweaks/cheats.... suddenly they know nothing).

My go to is normally 1-2 warning with score deleted and if they keep using cheats or lillegal tweaks, well you deserve a block or ban.

I bench a full 25h2 install. Tweaks are for the big time. Extremists. Poor air cooled guy is in the extreme point rankings for whatever reason. Thats not competition, its a slaughter. Fair though. I was opposed of cooling leagues the day it was announced.

If everyone cannot know about a tweak, then its called a cheat. Because its a secret. I a fair world, we would share the knowledge as a user friendly open source tweak. Thats how you define it. Draw a line on it.

Its not about hard rules. Its about HONESTY. If you think a tweak is worth to share, than that is good for the whole comminuty.

Rules are rules though. Boot the cheaters. Pretty simple and honest approach.

Many - many years ago there was a Greek member with the nickname S@39S ( something like that ).

He reached the very top ( n.1 ) - by cheating.

In 48 hours ( maybe less ) he was PERMANENTLY banned from HWBOT.

No warnings, no second chances, no gentle penalties like a 2 months ban.

What is different now ?

Are we all equal ?

Of course we are not. More or less this is expected in real life.

But in a kindergarden for big boys to play ?

Is the reason the money from anywhere ?

Is the reason stupid childish egoism ?

Food for thought people.

I want to believe that the owner and the crew are doing the best possible. They are humans though.

Fully different situation, to highlight some differences:

The below rule was broken:

Any software or human interaction altering the perceived speed of the benchmark program, tricking it to believe it ran faster = Benchmark hack

The above cheat was applied in different benchmarks, to reach his goal.

His account got temporarily suspended until further information was provided and afterwards he got banned.

Funnily enough Thread OP was the same in 2017 as in 2026.

As long as he's at hwbot and he plays fair, I'm happy to support him and everybody else. Definitely, incidents like this are not contributing to a stronger relationship, we'll see. Last time I sent him something was in November and it was not for him, it was for Country Cup, for team France. (Congrats for winning btw!)
If he's done something wrong then hwbot should ban him for life. I'd leave that to the staff to decide, not getting involved. But if you want to know, because I was asked from 2 people, I'd have banned him or at least suspended him until a decision is made.

I wasn't so aware about the past but it seems that he did something during a G.skill competition. G.skill and hwbot allowed him to participate in the last world cup. Weird, don't you think?
Also, Asus sponsors him.
