Rookie Rumble Guide

The Rookie Rumbles are back, one for Intel users and one for AMD user. The goal is to get aquainted with benchmarking, submitting at HWBOT and to get involved with the OC community. The goal is not to win, but to learn to tune your PC hardware for best or optimal performance.

So how to participate:

A) Rookie Members only, meaning you are less than 3 months active at HWBOT

B) Software requirement:

Windows Operating sytems only 8.1/10/11, no Linux, MacOS

BenchMate benchmarking tool grab it here: https://benchmate.org/

The Official Rookie Rumble Wallpaper (must be used,; otherwise the score will not be eligible for Rookie Rumble ranking)

C) Running benchmarks is easy and secure thanks to the BenchMate benchmarking tool. If you run into any problem with this tool you can find a dedicated support thread at the
HWBOT Discord channel

Open BenchMate, select the correct Benchmark. We take as example SuperPi

PI1.jpg

Double click on Super Pi, the becnhmark window will open. The selected version for the Rookie Rumble is Super PI 32M

Press on Calculate and select 32M from the dropdown menu - Press OK - You can minimize BenchMate but do NOT close it

The benchmark will now run, depending on the speed of your system it can take up to 10 minutes or more.

PI2.jpg

When the Super Pi 32M run is completed, a "PI calculation is done" window will pop up - Press Save Result

This will open a Save score window, however BEFORE you press Save Result, click first twice on the CPU-Z icon

Pi3.jpg

Two instances of CPU-Z will open, select the CPU tab on one and on the memory tab on the other CPU-Z

PI4.jpg

Now you can Press Save Result from the Result Window, BenchMate will also automatically screenshot your entire desktop, so no 3rd party tools are required!

So now let us submit your score to HWBOT

Do not use the submit from the BenchMate tool as it will not add the score to the Rookie Rumble Competition.

Open HWBOT and navigate to SUBMIT SCORE

RS1.jpg

A new window will open and you will spot the Rookie Rumble 56 Intel competition - Select the appropriate stage, in our case we want to submit the Super Pi 32M stage and click on Submit

RS2.jpg

The stage submission window will open - since we are using BenchMate select the "Use a Data file to Prefill Submission Form"

RS3.jpg

This will load the .Hwbot Datafile, if there is no error you can press Submit. In case of an error plz contact the HWBOT staff

RS4.jpg

This will open and prefill the required Data as Processor, Memory and other detected hardware

RS5.jpg

Scroll down the page, if needed add more info like Memory product,...

RS6.jpg

If you want to add more pictures of eg your setup, ensure they are less than 500KB each. easy tool to resize is eg Irfanview, reduce to 1024 resolution and save as jpg

Tick the I have read and... rules

Press Submit

Congratz you have just subbed your first entry at HWBOT

And think about SMURFER - whats with those SMURFS with fresh Account ?
You should be aware and care about such !

Kind regards from germany

A rookie at HWBOT is a user that is less than 3months registered at HWBOT, skill level we do not talk about

So i take a new PC (in case you create a MD5Hash or other) and create a FRESH Account and submit my stuff ?
Thats ok ?
