May 1May 1 Zotac Magnus One (model ECM73070C)...every time I look at it I curse like a kamikaze full of amphetamines. Oh yes! I go to my friend's house and every time I look inside and out with curiosity and nausea.Let's drink 5 liters of whiskey and build a mini PC!!! Said Zotac...In 2021, people were desperate for graphics cards, and Zotac capitalized on that. They sold the RTX 3070 "packaged" in a system that to call mediocre is a compliment. Essentially, u paid €1,000 for a graphics card and €500 for a high-end doorstop with office components...lol! The Magnus One is a classic example of "power on paper, disaster in reality." They took the hottest components of 2021 (10th-gen Intel and RTX 3070) and squeezed them into a ridiculously small package with no real plan for serviceability or expandability. At some point, while browsing Hwinfo, my attention fell on RAM timings. Using SO-DIMM RAM on a PC that's supposed to be a gaming desktop is a complete technical contradiction. There was certainly space for two standard DIMM slots ... perhaps by placing them vertically or moving the SSD bracket by a centimeter.Let's go into the bios...there's the OC section!!! I open the section...it's fake! WTF!!! only turbo boost...WTF!!! You can't change anything...let alone RAM timings. You have to suck CL22 foreverLet's talk about dissipation.I then get excited when I see systems even more recent than my "Ice Tractor" still fan-cooled...old school..ok!Alcoholic designers: they physically or software-blocked the ability to reverse the airflow. In such a small case, not being able to put the top fans in exhaust mode is thermal suicide.consequently, even the micro dust, instead of being expelled outside, ends up in the heart of the system. My PC has no filters but it doesn't get dirty like that because the exhaust is also used for that. the ideal environment for this PC would be a hyperbaric chamber...a 2-in-1 appliance that heats like a toaster and vacuums like a vacuum cleaner, using the CPU as a dust bag.😂I also thought I had found an African tarantula egg...but it was actually a ball of kitchen paper...the famous thermal paper by Scottex. wtf!!!Now you understand why I like to use old hardware. Every time I look into the "future"... it's like an Edgar Allan Poe story..."Zotac the dust-free toaster" Edited May 1May 1 by TheFyxxxer
May 1May 1 Author eI forgot...Have any of you ever managed to do something with the motherboard and BIOS...or better yet, sell it and keep the GPU. But without the GPU, I don't know what you'd sell...it looks like shit. ty all bb
