So, now you can set LOD level with the latest Nvidia 310.xx drivers.

 

- enable Sparse Grid Supersampling

- set lod

- higher 3DMark Vantage and 3DMark11 scores (~ 6% in Vantage it seems)

 

Feel free to give feedback on performance gain - pretty interested in seeing how much you can gain from it .

With GTX660:

 

~ 5.7% in 3DMark Vantage (especially rocking GT2)

~ 0.8% in 3DMark11 (LOD applied, but no effect)

I don't know, seems to hurt perf. the higher u go in quad vantage. Maybe needs fine tuning.

They need something better in 11 tho to compete with AMD cheating tesselation. Don't think this is it.

Seems like it's only working in single card dx10 at the moment. DX11 is the same, quad is lower. Maybe wait for another driver ...

I did some tests with Unigine Heaven DX11 ... the score goes down about 20% '

 

at the moment is a very great bonus only for Vantage

I think sparse grid takes the performance at 3dmark 11..

Works fine in win 7, some versions of nvidia inspector does not have the LOD setting, the newest does, and some of old versions as well.

 

Thanks you, I had the right version of NI and the right options but it didn't work. Just switched OS now it's ok.

Is this tweak 100% HWB legal? I just boosted a score by >14% and it felt a bit weird because it's a tweak that comes from software outside of GPU drivers

On ATI you can force Tessalation of, its also Software, for me its fully legit;)

That's drivers though Sure, massive performance gain, but it comes direct from ATI. I can disable Tess in nVidia.... but not through drivers and it's not legal.

LOD DX9 has been approved. LOD DX10/11 is approved as well I guess (logically and also because Massman himself posted here and didn't say anything about not using it/disallow it)

True, LOD DX9 is outside of nV drivers too.
