Q9400 optimal OCing
OK. 1.33V @ 3.5 is substacial for Q9400, but want more than just 4.0GHz. E7300 clocked successfully at 4.15GHz (max threshold) @ 1.49V on P43 chipset. Now running Q9400 on X48 ICH9R chipset want to clock to 5.0GHz on air (untested). Possible? Major Failure imminent? Want to know difference between quad and duel core cpu's architecture, can you explain please? Know that Quad at same stability as duel under less power consumption meaning duel requires more power imput than quad. Know that under current conditions ocing Quad is easyier than find threshold on duel. What else to know? Possible side paramenters, hurdles in threshold path? Know that duel contained maximum threshold path forks on many occasions, Quad same or more power equals overcome? Explain please? lol specS i WILL BE USING: Q9400 Quad X48-DS5 Gigabyte 8GB Kingston DDR2 80GB WIndows 7

3D Mark Vantage Question?
Never mind - I just installed a Q9400 Quad Core and now my score is 1600 points up on default clocks. CPU scores better than E7300 at 4.0. First Q9400 OC successful at set 3.5GHz 1.33V. Benched successfully no point loss. E7300 now at bottom of junkpile and expelled into outer-space at 6.25(GHz)per/hour

3D Mark Vantage Question?
Ok. Thanks guys. I was losing points in the physx test you know the second one with the planes crashing. Anyway on standard clocks I was getting 100 points in that and up to 3.5 from 2.66 it dropped down to 60 points.
