  1. Installed the z490 dark and it doesnt even train 4400 cl18 with 1,4 Sa 1,4 io and 1,5 vdimm?

    Bios freezes aswell with 1.07.

I thought this board is good?  Lol

Now i know why there's dark and kingpin dark.

I have multiple Kits here that I tested before and they can Do 4600.

On z490 dark Not even 4500 trains. Not with Bios 1.07 and Not with 1.08.

Board also doesnt detect my Soundcard in PCIE Slot lol....

    Bios freezes all the time.

What a waste of time again...

Just rebuild everything with watercooling and now the board is trash.

Maybe z490 kingpin is good, but the dark is 100% Not.

  2.  done with msi...
After reading About someone throwing away their msi board cause the bios is bugged and gets unstable with settings that where stable for weeks, i decided to test it.
    4400 c18 18 18 38 1,5vdimm 1,35 Sa 1,35 io
Locked rtls iols etc nothing on Auto.
Karhu 20000% zero errors, hci 4000% zero errors, gsat 4 hours no errors , Anta 777 extreme 6 cycles zero errors.
So one would think its stable.
One reboot later, Anta777 throws errors within seconds...
Im really mad right now, this Bios is Coded poorly and the other guy was right.

Training was Disabled, so zero values changed After reboot.

New v12Z shared by Toppc Lin. It has N:1T support (fake 1T) and Power Down Control for ITX. (ATX still not fixed afaik)
Now we need true 1T by having them set "Command Rate Support" to 0.

    Note: MTI = MemTweakIt.
Bios CR1 equals to "?T" (or N:1T) in MTI.
Changing "?T" to "1T" should change it to actual 1T until reboot, but not sure if it's actually applied as the difference is small.

Is high latency a thing on msi z490?

Changed from Maximus XII hero to msi ace and latency is horrible, like 5ms more with Same settings.

1.2w bios definitely helps with the poor latency results.

    PPD 0

txp 5 gave a little boost to bandwidth not much. I tried it auto ( 12 for my memory config ) and 5 it made no impact to latency.

The 1.2w bios or the above PPD 0 setting got the latency down roughly 4-5ns even running rather relaxed timings.

Back to running memory tests to verify it sacrificed no stability.

Is the high latency on msi boards now fixed with that Bios?

I changed my board from Asus maximus hero XII with 4400 c17 to msi ace and now 4600 c17 but latency on msi board is way way too high.

    Should i try the Bios?

    @Sladen Two things I'd try:

    Disabling cores

    Try a no-ucode bios

So i got new ram 4100 cl 15 15 15 35 with really low subtimings and 36ns in aida memory Benchmark.

Also tried with 4 cores only in firestrike and went from the Bad 29500 GPU score to Almost 31000, which is even better than with my 7700k.

So for me that means firestrike is bugged in Terms of gpu score with more than 4 cores.

  6. Hello guys,

    Maybe you can help Me.

Upgraded from i7 7700k and maximus IX hero to 10900k and maximus XII Apex.

Gpu in both configs is the Same 1080ti with Same overclock settings.

Same Windows 7 install, Same settings, drivers etc.

Now with z270 i had firestrike GPU score of 30700 and with z490 i dropped to 29500 GPU score with exact Same overclock and Windows settings.

1080 ti is running at 16x and no thermal Problems.

So what am i missing here?

Sudden drop of 1500 gpu score in firestrike when going from z270 to z490?

Am i missing some special chipset drivers to maximise gpu performance in Windows 7 on z490?

Is the ringbus on 10900k slower than on 7700k which makes gpu performance on z490 worse?

    What am i missing?

    Need your help guys.
