maybe you didn't notice, but i was being sarcastic.....
-
my score is not so important, i just think it is a bit of a stupid rule, but i will just photoshop some memory timings in that screenshot, so you all can be happy
-
Sorry didn't know that, but you act a little bit in a way as if you are running the site/being a mod/etc.
Still doesn't change the fact that this split up is just logical...
-
It is not like memory timings will change your PI score by more then a second....
Still, better scores should not be explained at all, if the pic is valid, the score should be considered as valid, simple as that
-
Gothrek, you're fighting a losing battle and I doubt anyone will agree with you. Memory sub-timings can have a huge impact on a superpi 1m run, let alone a 32m run. To dispute that is just crazy.
True, they have a huge effect on the score, but without memtimings your score cannot be validated? how stupid is that?
-
Hence, it is a stupid rule....
-
again i don't see any reason why memory timings should be mandatory
-
BTW, maybe jmke can explain why a lot of cards are split up in DDR2/GDDR3 while they still have the same name
Splitting up by memory is considered normal, but splitting up because of huge core differences is abnormal??
-
So my score was just blocked for the case of being blocked...
In 3D i can understand it is blocked as vital information as the resolution is hidden, but in Superpi the memory timings are not vital, so i don't understand why it is such a big deal
Right now, i certainly don't understand why there was any post on the main site regarding a new policy, since i don't see any change
-
I also think hardware should be ranked according to specs, and not stupid names
+1 for splitting it up
-
Ok, i understand why my 3Dmark scores are blocked, but why is a Superpi run blocked when the memory timings are not shown? You know the frequency of the CPU, the FSB everything except the memory timings, it is not like a superpi score cannot be validated without memory timings.
-
No, it is not off, just compare it to others people scores and their clocks, it is just that i forgot to show the resolution, i only have small screen and this seemed to be the best way to show everything in 1 screen, stupid i forgot about the resolution

2009-01-02 09:07:12.0 - (crew) Woomack: insufficient verification for rankings (no memory info)
....

Valid reasons?
A reason like this: ow your memory timings are not displayed => block...
-
Can any moderator recheck my scores and unblock them please?
I made some small error in the validation of the scores, but if you understand the benches and compare them against other scores, you know they are correct

@rich
any idea how long it will take till this new system is in place?
just curious
-
but isnt it strange the gpu clocks to the same exact frequencies?

same team, same gpu cluck, the same with all other 3dmarks

Gothrek, we are working on a system to have an inbetween option between "ok" and "blocked": "warned". eg. a result which is fine but lacks some minor validation, will be marked as "warned", but no actions will be taken untill the user has received xxx warnings.
that would be awesome
i will really do my best to make good screenshots from now on
-
guess nothing will happen after all....
plain sad

Dur lex sex lex.
User is responsible for the screenshot.
but you can clearly see the score is valid, i know there are rules, i just forgot one, and all my future screenshots will be fine, but it is evident when you compare my results to other users results, the resolution is fine....
i just forgot 3Dmark places the score in front of the resolution
and btw, you might want to replace sex with sed

I think rich (or maybe it was jmke) once said that if the score looks normal (in terms of CPU clock, GPU clock, memory clock/timings), then there's no reason to block them. I have no idea if these scores are "normal", but if the scores are a little bit better than what you'd expect from a normal (not-so-well-tweaked) run, then they should stay blocked.
compare them against the other results , you will find them normal
i would really like to see my scores unblocked, because they are valid and i cant run them at that frequencies anymore
-
There are rules. If I make an exception, there will be a precedent. Rules will lose force.
not true, just with any sport a referee has to apply the rules with common sense, if they would blow on their whistle for every fault during football it would be a concert

Gothrek: Read please
Example verification screenshots http://hwbot.org/hwbot.post.do?postId=863
The decision is possible if is ORB Link.
All in such conditions.
i know how it should be, as i stated in my previous post, but if you look at these scores with some common sense, you know they are correct
How much does the score change from one resolution to another? Just curious...i can redo the test with another resolution if you want

GPU-z get's all that from a database, it just checks the codename or reads some bios info
only thing in real time is the clocks
