  1. Hello

Want to show You a work which I done in 2018 :) . Sorry for not good pictures, using iphone 5s to make photos in dark workshop wasn't good idea.

    1. Cascade to Belgium, 18kBTU + 12kBTU , bartx 65mm diam evap, R507/R1150, gauges, automatic oilseparator.

I have transported it by myself to Belgium :).

    2. Cascade to Spain, 18kBTU + 11kBTU , 54mm steeper evap, R507/R1150, gauges,  oilseparator with handvalve.

    3. Repair a suction line leak +refill of 2nd stage of cascade from Austria (not built by me), two R134a rotaries looks like approx 8-10k BTU (do not check specs) , unknown evap diameter under 40mm, R404a/R1150.

Before it caught a leak it was running with R23, do not have problems after R1150 regas.

    -103C no load

-90C@250W (cascade is approx 10 years old and were build to hold load approx 250W, mine work was only to repair a leak and refill it so I do not test it with bigger loads).  It should handle 300-350W.

  2. Hello

As I said in previous topic this year I've made also some rebuilds and repairs of unit:

    no.1 - repair a leak in prometeia mach 2 which was already modded by a phase-changer from Holland/Belgium - tune for 260W - evaporator 38mm unknown design - -42C unloaded/ -28C loaded

no.2 - changing of damaged compressor from 2nd stage of cascade which I build approx 8-10 years ago - tune for 315W mine old dummyload - evaporator 54mm steeper - -98C unloaded/-85C loaded

    no.3 - repair a leak and changing of evaporator to bartx's 65mm evaporator in "deep purple" cascade (2x2.5HP) - spark.nl's unit- tune for 550W (max of bartx's dummyload) - evaporator 65mm bartx's - -120C unloaded/-94C loaded.

    :)

  3. Did you drown it into the water to check for leaks?

Yes, exactly, I want to be 100% sure :).

Awesome work. What refrigerant did you use on each stage?

    R507/R1150 (ethylene)

Nice to see you back in action. :)

Maybe you can remember your ultramarin blue cascade built back in 2007. This baby still works like a charm and didn't have a single issue. All I had to "fix" was a small piece of armaflex fallen off.

This piece of art brought us a few global world records. And it is much stronger than it was built for...

Last year we ran a 5960X with a calculated power draw of about 500W in wPrime 1024M. Highest evap-temperature was -89C. Not bad for a nine year old unit built for -96C at 250W.

Hats off for this masterpiece... :)

Sure I remember You - You were the only one from abroad of Poland who made a personal pickup of unit in past so I remember that well :).

Good to hear that this unit is still working well. I very like that colour :).

  4. Hello

Maybe some of You remember mine phase-change builds which I made in 2006-2011 years. This year I back a bit to building phase-change, I repair few units and build one new cascade :)

I want to show You mine 2017 cascade. 28K + 25K BTU Toshiba rotaries, gauges, temperature displays and bartx's 65mm diam evap which made superb work :).

    Performance: evaporator on 400W = -96*C, on 530-540W (max of bartx's dummyload) = -92*C.
