  1. small update, just shaved about one second off of last submit but that alone took some effort

    http://hwbot.org/submission/2584237_

    gogo gigabyte lol

    edit;

    g3258 incoming, doing some runs now :)

    right here,

    http://hwbot.org/submission/2584947_

    not bad for some quick timings (same ram/OS/waza/board as above, couldnt use same timings due to changing to diff BIOS just to support this chip)

  2. pentium-k retail testing, water.

    3418B983 costa rica, VID 1.061v, 4.9ghz 1.35v wprime32m

    50x not stable at 1.4v, vccin tested from 1.94 upto 2v

    IMC okay on samsung given test boards limited to 2.1v on this BIOS (2800c9-12-12-16 1t twcl6 trfc110 IOLs5, RTL 42/43), will retest with PSC to get a better idea on its potential :)

    as it is ill probably hang onto this one as a "baseline", buy others and bin them accordingly. local store only had the one today though lol

  3. did end up trying it out on my galaxy S after discussing with massman on FB :)

    have not seen the sync message

    keep getting "communication with hwbot failed :("

    can see other scores submitted with my CPU type including massmans above and a 467 by FrAnDeoX.

    am signed in (this took a few attempts).

    cant remember how to take screenshots the function is missing from its usual place on my phone since updating to KK :(

    did try both exiting and fully killing the app, then re-running as massman did, without success here.

    have tried mobile data and wifi out of curiosity to see if it preferred one data method or another, still no sync.

    edit: still the same after reboot of phone

    will keep playing around.

    one thing noted is that in contrast to what filmbot said, my scores have increased by up to 10pps by re-running without exiting.

  4. nah this chip doesnt like 4cores period.

    id say the 3rd or 4th core just doesnt clock like the first 2 can (6.4 max tested on those so far)

    regardless i should hit higher on ivy, even with the IPC differences etc..

    however, in setting it up for some runs today;

    turns out my trusty UD3H has crapped out sometime between the XTU comp testing (low clock, water..) and now. its only been put in storage in the meantime.

    maybe it got crushed or something - though physically it looks fine, pins all good etc..

    meh, it was average at best anyway. guess ill start looking for a cheap asrock z77 OCF, always wanted to try one :)

  5. Wd to everyone who participated, big year in general for CC :)

    very tight competition.

    Interesting hardware category choices, shame not everyone could complete some of the rounds (including us), still, wasnt as big a setback as thought it would be.

    Congrats to the other Aussies, amazing effort especially for our first proper crack at this Cup, look forward to seeing where we can all go from here :D

  6. haha

    some people might say its karma, this is what we get for sandbagging eh?

    gg. classy.

    but rules is rules. will wait for admin ruling regardless.

    as splave said, can we get a clarification as to why this version was banned?

    win8 bug?

    if a no go;

    are all the other 1.0 subs gonna get reamed too? admins got a lot of work ahead of them over the Xmas/NYE break... wd

  7. i do not like the idea of "more points for holding top score the longest".

    some people really are benching through the day/night right up til the last minute.

    if that effort is not rewarded, you will get a lot more butthurt people complaining than we do now about the sandbagging.

    while sandbagging is seen as a bit of a cheap tactic, as pro said, its unavoidable if you want to actually compete.

    theres no rules against it, if anything its encouraged.

    i guess this comp did favour those in the world with daylight hours at the time of the rounds closing, though (Australasia/pacific, EU etc)

    i do like massmans solution though, making the last ~12 hours or so dark, add a chat window to the results page and leak through a random score every 5mins to keep the chat going etc... would be like a live event of sorts, definite popcorn viewing :D
