  1. I think that MSI could on next MOA qualifier give prizes to the one who stands for more time on the lead. =P

It would be a nice incentive for people keep posting higher scores before the cutoff.

Also could give prizes for the first three to submit scores, and other stuff like that.

The prize don't need to be expensive hardware, just a MSI flash drive or T-shirt would be a great incentive.

    I could second that.

  2. BTW those pics by "Ninjalane" are actually mine :) I'm glad they are getting some mileage (or kilometers outside of the US)

I love the POM top, the machine work is a prefect and the fit on the pot is quite snug. No chance that it will rotate on you. In fact the washers that sit between the springs and the top disappear in the POM material like they didn't exist.

As for the backplate, I was one of the folks that didn't like the thick POM and normally use the stainless plate that came with my phase to secure the pot. My biggest battle is how to install it all. All-thread is impossible to work with and my phase came with some really long 4mm screws so the screwhead would act as the bottom nut. Its nice but takes forever to run that nut down to the bottom and the screws aren't long enough for the pot.

To be honest, a threaded base like what KP uses seems to be the best solution in most cases.

  3. I hope to be at the MOA finals either as a competitor or as a "reporter/spectator". Of course my preference would be to compete since that would be a lot more fun.

If all else fails I'll be taking "option 3" or checking the couch for airfare money. :D

This should be a good challenge and highly focused on getting good GPU scores.

  4. Wow what an epic thread!, I wanted to throw my two coins in and say that this is really a bad idea. First of all if you step back a moment, aside from the "league" distinction everyone is still on the same scale. Pro League, OC League doesn't really matter unless you are looking for reasons to pad your point standings. (within the league) I still look at myself at the Country level and rarely pay attention to the Leagues or ever overall.

As for a grace period for when submissions will generate points. I am not a fan, not so much because it prevents "pro" level people from submitting scores but more from the fact that you are limiting members from showing off their new system and subjecting them to rules that clearly don't matter. Besides it not like their record will last long, give it a month they will be down from 10 points and a gold cup to 0.1 and forgotten in the sea of submissions.

IMO this whole thread is a witch hunt. However, if you really are worried about Pro vs OC league placement you need to implement a voting system so that if someone flags a result and thinks the person needs to move up to Pro then it should be handled like a submission moderation and case by case. Give the member a chance to justify themselves and if they happen to be a repeat offender then make it a mandatory move.
