It was an impressive showing by each of the top three nations (my earlier comments notwithstanding). Congrats to Greece, Australia and Germany - and indeed all participants on yet another wonderful and enjoyable Country Cup!

This is going to be an unpopular post. I don't care. I know websmile's moderating style is to interpret the rules in the most literal way possible, without paying any attention to the spirit of the rule, so I know nothing will come of this. But I have to say something.
I think Greece and Australia should to be ashamed of the very unsportsmanlike manner in which they chose to address Stage 4 in the Country Cup. Both teams shared literally every piece of hardware except the GPU for every single one of their submissions. I know the hardware sharing rule says that's okay for 3D benches, but in a stage when you can't share GPUs because of the requirement to use different ones anyway guess what - suddenly there is no hardware sharing restriction whatsoever. Teams are free to share as much hardware as they bloody well please!
And that, my friends, is just not acceptable; it's not sportsmanlike. Not to me, and I'm sure not to Team Germany - the legitimate winners of Stage 4 in my personal opinion.

Ugh - so in other words, not worth my trouble to get +0.1 to +0.15. Thanks guys!

I'm looking into vmodding an EVGA GTS 250 SC. Have the vgpu and vmem read points figured. Have the vmem mod on the uP6161N figured. But I'm at a loss for what to do with the NCP5388. Would appreciate any help/direction you might be able to offer. Thanks!

Beauty gold cup, Val! Don't think it'll stick for the Country Cup, though, because of that stupid no-server-parts rule. But a great score nonetheless!

In my opinion, the dogpile was a boatload of fun. I was able to say to folks on my forum "no matter what you got, you qualify!" and that's a good thing to be able to say to novice overclockers. So please don't dismiss it as a failed experiment just yet! Sure there were some wrinkles that need to be ironed out, but I think the intent of the stage was definitely something worth pursuing again in the future.
edit - But if I were to offer one main gripe, it's the exclusion of Opterons (and Xeons), particularly when we're talking about Socket 939.

w00t! Go Canada!

Trying to submit a score to Stage 3.3 with a Yonah-based T2300, but the sub gets spat back as non-compliant. What's up?
edit - Ugh, I get it now. Has to have "Pentium" in the name. D'oh!

I recently had a member of our forum try to join our overclocking team, only to discover Hardware Canucks is no longer on the list of teams available to join in the "My Account" page. I can confirm this is the case from my own "My Account" team, although the "Team Account" page is set to accept membership from all. I would really appreciate it if somebody could look into this asap considering the Team Cup is on currently.
Also, I should note this is a relatively new development, as our last new member joined July 20th. So our team was dropped from the list some time within the past month or so.
Judging from the newfound brevity of the list, I imagine ours is not the only team to have been dropped. Thanks!

the preview pictures rig now showing again and while open competition window browser brakes every 60 seconds...it looks like a page refresh or refresh all many pictures on page...
This is still the case. Worked well for about a week, but broken again.

Thanks scannick, sorry - didn't notice. Removed the invalid sub.

Question re: Stage 4.4. Rules say no server parts, but lotsa folks used Opteron 100-series parts for S939 desktops. Allowed?

You guys rule! Congrats Marc!

It was an awesome competition and thanks for hwbot to hosting this wonderful event!
...
Last year we were in #22 position and we got to #4 this year which to me is a huge achievement by itself.
Yeah, I think we said amongst ourselves going in that we thought we had a shot at Top 5 this year. So to get to #4 is absolutely huge.
Like how the silver-medal-winning hockey team feels after losing in the finals, there's some sting to missing Top 3 by such a slim margin at the last moment. But, when we look back at this we'll be nothing but thrilled with our result.
edit - And we'll get to look back on this all year long whenever we see the forum sigs of our American friends! And that deserves a w00t w00t!

Well, you know, as Billy Shears once said... I get by with a little help from my friends.

This rig pic blows my mind!

This competition makes no sense to me.

These so-called laws of decency... Are you sure you're both talking about the same thing?
To an American, shooting a man in the face instead of the back is considered decent.
