I recommend to use the latest retail BIOS especially for memory overclocking. Try PMIC Turbo Mode of 4 or 5. I generally use 4.
Can find it on evga website:
Personally 4 has worked the best for me on ambient, 5 seems to scale better when cold

Is there a way to tell its bad like on the pcb?
Pretty much consider most retail 2021 boards as boards with issues
ES and 2022 boards seem to do a lot better
If there is no manufacturers date on the sticker with the serial then its a early batch 2021

Absolutely love it so far. Memory OC has been better than the Apex and I'm really digging the no non sense bios.
Yep, honestly the best z690 board on the market. PMIC support is nuts and the no memory slot issues is all i had to see to convince me to buy it.

Thanks for the info. This is my first EVGA board in 13 years since the X58 Classified. I've been conditioned to ROG voltage reporting.
Understandable lol, you enjoying the board?

Can someone confirm that VSA reporting in hwinfo is bugged? It's steady reporting 1.76v no matter what I set in the bios. VSA VID changes but not VSA. I'm running a 12900KS and want to make sure there's no weird bios bug that's degrading my chip on ambient.
VCCSA is part of FIVR spec. Read your SA VID under your Core VID's in hwinfo

VDDQ is the hardest voltage on Z690. On the latest bioses with cpu on cold usually 1.23-1.3 is most stable and easiest to boot at the same time.
Yeah i haven’t been able to test this CPU on cold yet but from ambient 1.6 definitely shows an improvement
-
Just wanted to add a few things.
In some of the ambient testing that i've done PMIC Mode 4 definitely helps with training and stability, I've seen maybe a few handpicked boards that can actually scale above 1.6vdd/vddq on ambient (every dark i have seen does it flawlessly).
With a not so good imc and a decent kit I was able to bench 7100c31 with no issues
I'll definitely be throwing the cpu and ram under LN2 when my pot comes back ?

check the bios version in this video, it looks like maybe it's ES/Beta? 0.00 hmmm
I tried the shipped 1.0 and the latest 1.04 but neither show the AVX-512 offset with e cores disabled. I tried per core and disabled them all and also legacy with core count = 0. no luck. reached out to some folks but if anyone has suggestions it is much appreciated
Definitely looks like its an ES bios. Going to get a dark myself when my notify hits for some more testing, might also reach out to a few people to see if some modding will allow avx-512 support.

What about moding your own bios by removing new u code and replacing older ucode? I did this on both z690 strix d4 and Apex, not sure how it would work on other vendors MB.
https://www.overclock.net/threads/12900k-patching-older-ucode-to-restore-avx512.1796070/
Screenshot of bios 9902 I replaced ucode
A friend of mine had tried to do this but no luck, disabling e cores just didn’t enable avx512, and the option isn’t there to enable it in bios

Sorry for the late reply. Ended up buying a 30L off someone retiring from XOC, how much were you looking for?

speeds are nice , but it's 10 secs too slow...
lack of avx512, unsure if dark has the option to enable it.

????
Retail apex boards are just very inconsistent and afaik not many people have been able to buy an aqua oc especially for that price. Just the dark doing 6933 1T after a few minutes of tuning is nuts

Which board are you referring too ?
Little birdy told that the ASRock Z690 Aqua will hit retail market around end of January
The asus z690 tool

If you're struggling to do per core OC on windows 7 with the ASUS tool.exe
You need to first set a lower all core frequency with the tool, then start doing your per core oc, otherwise it won't apply.
