  1. Oc ive been f ing around with 230+ bclk and for whatever reason it makes booting so f ing slow, even trying to change settings fast like bclk only raises it really slowly Any way to fix this slowdown bullcrap?
  2. Done, as soon as i first booted i didnt even bother with the p6t deluxe bios and wet to flashing a rampage iii bios, didnt work so flashed a p6x58d premium bios (apparently it has the same ebb as rampage iii so no worries about ebb screwing it over), any asus or ami board that i come across i immedeatly flash or mod bios (p5q, p5q pro, etc.), though as per usual theres prob some other settings that arent in the bios, gotta love asus bios crippling bullcrap .-. What freq does slowmode run at? And also how far can i push the voltage on ioh pcie (aka ioh i/o) before it just outright dies? Cause it already redzones at 1.76v and goes all the way to 2.76v, is it just like the cpu and tolerates 2.05v ish before dying or does it take even more volt to outright die?
  3. Now i have a p6t + x5660 i got for 18$ cause first slot is dead and the top right corner is fked which might be why cmos isnt working but ill have to test that since one of the pins snapped on the cmos holder (needa resolder it and my iron is fked cause i use it to melt plastics) Literally within the first hour i got it to boot 5ghz cause why the hell not ¯\_ (ツ) _/¯ Now i wanna start clocking the balls off everything else Uncore seems to scale with ioh pcie voltage but board thinks 1.76v is unsafe, whats the safe volt for ioh pcie (aka ioh i/o) and what voltage does it take to spontaneously die? Im also screwing around with qpi but raising qpi volt doesnt do anything, neither does ioh pcie do anything either, tops out at ~8500 or maybe it just doesnt like the higher multis Pcie doesnt scale with ioh pcie either, max 125 Bclk got it to 230 with 115 pcie but idk how to stabilize it and booting is extremely slow at that bclk cause it spends a boat load of time on ram checking (d5) and actually getting past gpu initialization (2A) not to mention the bios splash screen (75) I use a pci debug card aka post card so i have a rough idea of what the board is doing Btw what volt does 4.6ghz usually require? Cause i set 1.4v but that just bsods (no llc)
  4. I think ill bother with my ep45 later, ive now gotten a p6t deluxe (modded bios to p6x58d-premium ofc so no bios crippling) and imma make a new thread cause im getting cofused with the volts and how high i can set them without sht dying
  5. ill try f ing around with gtls later cause its 2 am I already use that for all vref tied to vtt I havent seen any sort of improvement from screwing around with cpu ref2, it actually makes things worse, and leaving it on auto seems to be fine but i guess ill have a go at gtl tuning
  6. Are you referring to cpu reference2? Cause i had no idea this board can control cpu core gtls individually, and why does the stock voltages this board has indicates that cpu ref2 is set 0.04v above cpu ref?
  7. I just wanna see how far i can push my ep45 ds4p Main specs are e8400 (e0), 1x3 extreem dark 1066 6-6-6-18, ofc gigabyte ep45 ds4p. For other parts the psu is some 11 year old dazumba 450w that seems so handle ocing fine, 9500gt as a display adaper, 80gb sata hdd, and a rubbish 92mm chinese tower (alseye eddy 90b plus) Currently max stable (prime95 large ffts) is 570 fsb, settings are 570fsb, 104 pcie, ddr2 1368 7-9-9-10 132 trfc 2.04v, termination (vtt) 1.34v, pll 1.3v, cpu ref ~0.61x, mch 1.4v, mch ref ~0.56x, cpu clock drive 1000mv, pcie clock drive 700mv, cpu clock skew 100ps, mch clock skew 0ps, driving strength profile 1066mhz, everything else auto cause i have no idea what the other settings do and what i should aim for Currently trying for 600fsb, the settings changed are termination (vtt) to 1.44v, same volt for mch, and rams set to 1200 6-7-5-10 2.1v, at this very specific setting i can get it to boot into w7 but doesnt go any further then the welcome screen. What settings should i change? Cause i havent screwed around with the other settings that i left on auto First time posting here so if i sound like a moron then thats why .-.
  8. Has anyone ever broken the 600fsb barrier with a quad? Cause this is real close to 600fsb, maybe with some more tuning you can reach it. i tested this boards ebb on my p5q and seems like the maximus ii formula ebb is slightly better, maybe you can break the barrier with a basic bios mod, its pretty much just drag and drop, extract ebb from the maximus then replace the ebb from the p45x3 bios with the maximus ebb, for all i know giga p45 is king with fsb capability so are these boards pretty much king of fsb with quads?
  9. So can i just swap it with the p5q sata controller firmware or something? I do have a ud3p with a shot nb and seems like these boards are all dual bios so maybe theres a way to disable the dual bios functionality if thats whats causing the problem, tbh at this point its just out of curiosity cause maximus ii formula ebb seems to have the best results with the crosshair iv formula ebb matching it (yes i did flash freaking ebb from amd boards xD)
  10. Interesting, maybe i could swap the superio module but idk which one is the superio module, i can only suspect its either the jmb module or the sbf module but idk. Maybe ill continue once i get another debug card cause not having a debug card sucks balls
  11. Im particularly interested in what PPMINIT RTEGROM and ud3 are, and also what the decompression block is. Also curious about these group modules like ffgroup, ggroup, etc. Other points of interest are SBF DDR2_bb DS3_DDR2 _EN_CODE and ACPITBL
  12. Bruh if they are chipset specific then why the hell could i flash a commando ebb (p965 board) onto my p5q (p45 board)? Now that i know its actual name is meminit then i guess ill extract meminit from an ep45 bios and shove it on my p5q xD ik it prob wont help but fk it i just wanna see what happens, maybe you can help me with modding an ep45 ud3r bios to work on the p5q? Using award bios editor and idk what any of these modules even do, currently just deleting random modules to see if that does anything or not, im suspecting the jmb10678 module since its under pci drivers (problably the gigabyte sata controller driver) but deleting it doesnt seem to work, maybe check out for yourself the bios using the award bios editor tool (on sourceforge) and decipher what these modules even do, maybe i can make it compatible with the p5q
  13. I have literally no idea what ebb actually does, all i know is that it can increase ocability, maybe it contains tuning for rams, vrms, etc. But i have absolutely no idea what other functions it has Ket has only based his bios off p5q premium which pales in comparison to a maximus ii formula so maybe one day i can recreate kets bios but improved, though i doubt that since i have absolutely no idea on what i am doing other than "swapping this makes oc better" xD
  14. As much as i would like to do serious bios mods im a freaking noob at this stuff and atm only capable of doing some extremely basic module swapping, hopefully ill learn abit but its gonna take awhile, atm trying to blindly mod a ud3r bios to work on my p5q as i do know it stops just before it posts at code 26 (iirc post code is 52), issue is debug card died cause i shorted the board so ill have to wait a few more days to get another debug card and hopefully not blow it up again, abit earlier i was messing around with ebb swapping, miif ebb works best but seems like crosshair iv extreme ebb seems to match it or atleast very close to matching it since i did get both to cold boot to 5.13ghz 570fsb, somehow got 5.16 with 574fsb which is a total fluke, prob just because i left the board alone for an hour or 2 for it to cool down, too bad its just bios only cause this board sucks
  15. Isnt g45 fsb crippled like the other 40 series chipsets (other than p45 and x48)? I think you may be able to get higher fsb clocks if you mod your bios, you can open your mb bios file in mmtool v3.22 and then swap in ebb of your choice (prefferably a top end board) ive modded my p5q with kets p5q pro turbo bios but ebb has been swapped to maximus ii formula and instead of 550 it now gets 570 which ngl is still pathetic, same effect when flashing p5qd bios on it Bricking isnt a worry as that board has a removable bios chip and you can easily reprogramm it with a cheap bios flasher like ch341a, and ive also tested REX, p5ke, commando, and even p5q3 ebb, they all work even from diff chipsets, though they were worse than the p5qd bios, even managed to swap in a tpower i45 ebb but that just made booting with all my 3 sticks a PITA (stuck on c0), though after manually setting the bios its fine, didnt see an improvement from the tpower ebb though I suggest changing the ebb to a maximus ii formula as that seems to have yeilded the best results for me, its a very simple bios mod, using mmtool just extract the ebb from the miif bios file (save as is in rom file not uncompressed) then replace the ebb in your bios file, mmtool 3.26 yeilds uneditable value error so dont bother using that, i think i found 3.22 on a bkmod site or something so maybe search mmtool bkmod, the module that contains the ebb is marked ebb in the ncb colomn I wanna try swapping an miif ebb onto a p5kpl bios but too bad both the p5kpls i have are broken (one has shot sb and nb, the other has destroyed socket and gets stuck on code d0)
  16. If it werent for valid.x86.fr not sending me an email when i tried registering my account on there i could verify my g31m s2c running 542fsb, maybe someday when that site isnt broken. How high did this board go? Cause mine tops out at 542 with pcie set to 195 in setfsb, i used extreem dark ddr2 1gb modules Well i have no way to determine if you even use or have this acc anymore so im just gonna leave this here incase you ever see it
