  1. @safediskHow about a Gear 4 BIOS for everything else but LN2? Similar the old 0021 last year during the same competition. 0021 worked like a charm (stock or DICE). I don't seem to be able to run Gear4 with the available release on Encore (presently 0080). Thanks - MarkDeMark
  2. Now that's the solution. Appreciated
  3. Thanks - I guess I'll try going down the ODD path
  4. Hi Trying to install Win7 (Ghost Spectre minimal version) on Apex Encore in compatibility mode, but keep running into missing media driver issue. Anyone has any idea how to solve this (See attached video). Or, would anyone have an available Win7 image compatible with Apex Encore? UPDATE*** I injected the Intel(R)_USB_3.0_eXtensible_Host_Controller_Driver_5.0.4.43_v2 in the W7 installation USB drive - as well as point to it when the installation requests the driver - but all in vain. What am I missing here? Thanks MarkDeMark IMG_0831.MOV
  5. Anyone with a decent i3-12300 up for sale? Tx
  6. All right _mat_ I found the OpenCL runtime 18.1 and installed it. Still couldn't run because of a missing dll (can't remember the name of it), so I installed Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable. It's all good and running now. Thanks for the pointer. Have a great one MarkDeMark
  7. _mat_ I am on the Intel forum right now looking for version 2.1 - Once I get it I'll let you know if it solves the issue. Intel site is kind of harsh to navigate if your not looking for the latest release, but something older. This is the the config I am running - there's 30GB of memory available Cheers and thanks for the reply
  8. Hi Trying to run Gpupi for CPU but fail to run with error message CL_OUT_OF_HOST_MEMORY. Anyone knows about this error? Could it be a missing Visual C++ Redistributable library? Latest version OpenCL opencl_runtime_p_2023.2.0.49500 Apex Z790 (BIOS 0022 with microcode 09) G7400 CPU WIN 10 Pro 21H1 Here's the log file from trying to run GPUPI 3.3.3 Thx
  9. While looking for a 12300 or 12100F and I came across this CPU - no sure what to think of it. What is the meaning of a CPU without any SRL# or origin/date engraving on the IHS (see attached). The fact it has AVX512 support makes interesting but... Thanks
  10. Hi - I'm considering going sub-zero (Dry Ice first). right now I am using water and Direct-die so I must re-lid my CPU first. In the process. what product should I use between Die and IHS if I'm going sub-zero? Can I still use LM? I know LM is a no-go between pot and IHS, but can I still use it between Die and IHS? Anything better to use when putting back together the CPU? Thanks
  11. Small accident. Just shorted my board. No stock at any retailer. Looking for a Z790 Apex - ship to Canada. Anyone?
  12. @LeeghoofdBrillant - that works. If I may, the validation is stamped "Unchecked" on the validator page - how do I get it checked? And by the way, hats off for your work on the Open Intel Competition. Thanks
  13. @leeghoofd - I have an issue validating CPUZ for stage 3 Geekbench5 - At steady 55MHz I press F7 and core speed goes down to 5300 - sometimes 5400 - the .cvf file is saved at 5300 or 5400 - once saved, CPUZ goes back to 5500MHZ. I get the same behavior saving locally or directly online. Not sure if it's an Aqua OC issue, a CPUZ issue or just the expected behavior when all of the INTEL enhancement are enabled: Turbo boost, Speedstep, Speeshift and etc. Could be Windows 11. I don't know... I'd like to know if this will affect my entries in anyway (CPU validation showing slower core speed than what's used for the Geekbench5 run?) PS. I have attached a video of the behavior using F7. I am not able to correct this issue - if it is one - at the moment. I tried many ways. Thanks for your time ValidationIsuue.MOV
  14. @Leeghoofd I guess I owe you another apology. I'm sorry to make you waste your time with someone like me who obviously seem to have very little regards for rules. It's my second offense. Isn't it funny though - that there are so many rules In a discipline that's all about breaking the rules. And thanks for keeping me in - even after 2 strikes. Cheers
