Raja@ASUS :)
For those who don't know Raja, you can find his reviews over at Anandtech. He knows his way around a motherboard: http://www.anandtech.com/show/2727/evga-x58-classified-first-look http://www.anandtech.com/show/2764

Raja@ASUS :)
Just saw this on XS, so it must be official. Looks like Anandtech is the official gateway to ASUS nowadays . Anyways, more know-how added to the ASUS team. Good for us, I guess!

Prices ...
In local shop here, price is estimated at ~ R3E (~ €320). A bit disappointing.

... and we shall call it: 'The Shamino-effect'
Over the past years, Shamino has build up quite a reputation in the extreme overclocking community, so it's kind of to be expected that people anticipate great things from the products he works on. Being an extreme overclocker himself, he can also produce the right amount of exposure for those products (read: oc results). But all the positive attention that comes with the 'hype' is gone if the product cannot follow the expectations. BlackOps and Classified were both sort of hyped within the community, but were also both simply excellent products that delivered what was promised. Not always as simple to use as many other boards, but once you got them up and running, they were very strong. OC mind + excellent product = win!

... and we shall call it: 'The Shamino-effect'
Y-axis for first chart = percentage of used brand for all LN2 results (CPU or VGA). Eg: in 2009, ~12% of the LN2 results were performed on Evga mainboard. Here's a chart with global data, still based on results. 2011 is pretty skewed, I think, but you can see the Shamino-effect for Foxconn and Evga. ASUS has been pretty much losing stake since 2007 ("since records began") although the question remains to what extend the data from '06-'07 is complete (I seriously doubt it ).

Giga X58A-OC sneak peek ...
What BIOS are you on?

... and we shall call it: 'The Shamino-effect'
These are all results with CPU on LN2 (in Europe) so X58 is there too. But, yeah, 2011 results aren't complete.

... and we shall call it: 'The Shamino-effect'
Prepping a document for partners about LN2 overclocking at HWBOT. This is what I found when looking at the EU CPU on LN2 results. Coincidence?
