  1. Bought an MSI board and it supports BLCK OC so want to get a stable OC on my 12400. Will be mostly used for games right now. Ive some experience with Intel K series and ryzen OC but never BCLK method.

My question is can I stop the GPU from getting an oc?  So many times when my gpus get any oc at all and I launch a game it crashes the drivers so I dont bother if gaming. Its not a major problem if I run it stock, just playing bf2042 and iracing but would be great to get higher fps from the 3070ti.

Ive tried google search but its hard to get info on this.

    Cheers,

    Silvagi

  2. @MatsglobetrotterHey thanks for that, was a nice read.  Do you still think you need to insulate the inside of CPU socket, if so, whats the best way? I'm thinking if I do indeed do something a once and permanent technique is best. Cant really get eraser or Vaseline out anyway and must be extremely careful of the socket pins so either more gasket maker or something like the nail polish technique they recommend for coating smds when delidding/pasting with conductonaut.

  3. Hi,

I recently bought a MSI z790 carbon wifi and it has a hole in the cpu socket. I read its for a thermocouple so have ordered another one from KPC and wish to try it out next dry ice session. My question is do I need to prepare it in any special way or just insert? There are components inside cpu socket and also on the 12600k and I think the metal tip of the thermocouple will short out these components possibly finishing my MB and/or CPU ?. Im going to use some LET and gasket maker on the board but I should not go inside the socket right?

    Thanks,

    SilvaGi

  4. Please change me to correct league (if appropriate) as I have used DICE for first time now. I noticed that it was required in the settings part of my profile.  Also, It looks like I failed to show memory on 3rd cpuz window in screen shot in my best Cinebench R23 Multi score. It was my first time using dice and I was using benchmate program to submit scores. Please make adjustments as is required. Thank You. SilvaGi.
