meankeys Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Thanks Dart I need to learn the bios settings. There are so many it's easy to get lost. Samual ran a 1290 with a lower clock. he seems to have found a sweet spot with his setup. Not sure if it's the z87 chipset or his memory. http://hwbot.org/submission/2600307_samual_xtu_core_i7_4790k_1290_marks Any thoughts? Quote
Matsglobetrotter Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 He is also using win8 instead of win7. For some reason i also get higher scores on win8 on xtu consistently. Quote
twisted1 Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Try running the cache higher? I see samual is running his @x48. Quote
twisted1 Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Cache line prefetch should also be enabled. And you only need to run high oc for the first 3 sec of the bench, this is when the score is calculated. After that you can enable slow mode or clock down the cpu, good to know if you want to push higher oc Quote
meankeys Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 THX guy's Cache line prefetch is set in the bios? the other settings your adjusting in XTU? Thanks again mkeys Quote
WhitePaw Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 Very good score M.. Samuels score are also awesome, G.I Sam know what he is doing,, ^^ Fine tuning and settings Quote
twisted1 Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 Yes cache line prefetch in BIOS. That's needed for most benchs except aquamark. Also try clocking down 4sec into the bench, you could probably run 100Mhz higher OC that way. Quote
WhitePaw Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Hola 4 sec only? i run mine 5 minutes.. que Quote
twisted1 Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 Yep, the score is calculated the first 4-5 sec of the bench. After that just clock down, wont hurt your total score Quote
