October 12, 201410 yr :)these cards are really hard to bench ,if you get a card with good ram“s/mem controller then you will have good efficiency! will see that:) actually cpu freq limitted some my submision like 2k6 , 2k5 and aqua ..but i will give a try with cpu under my cascade , actually work in progress!!! October 12, 201410 yr Author Does not need vmem mod? I see chips on mine are Qimonda. Edited October 12, 201410 yr by I.nfraR.ed
October 12, 201410 yr mine also Qimonda,( the old infineon) don“t required Vmod ...because no scalling with volts , need reverse vmod:D
October 12, 201410 yr Author Stock bios has the pll bug and I can't find another working bios The card is Asus HD3850 512MB non-ref. Bioses from ref cards give me message to connect power cable and other 3 newer asus bioses don't work correctly. Ā I assume all VER010.068.000.002.027052 has the pll bug, while it is fixed in the 010.076.000.001.027551 versions, but none of them is for my card. Edited October 12, 201410 yr by I.nfraR.ed
October 12, 201410 yr i had same problem with Asus HD3870 TOP , i have no PLL bios ..and card are limited at 1100mhz and ram 1250mhz, even this vard has Samsung 0.8ns ram ic“s ...i“m dissipointed
October 12, 201410 yr Author My Sapphire HD 3870 "Extreme" are both good, but this 3850 I got dirt cheap and thought it wouldn't hurt if I try. Oh boy, was I wrong... It's useless without PLL-mod bios, limited to ~860MHz on the core. Mems does not scale with voltage, ofcourse.
October 12, 201410 yr i told you , Qimonda no scalling with volts ..not only on RV670 , almost all cards that it had( nvidia aswell)..only isolated case , so iĀ“m in same problem like you with my HD3870TOP , so i will give a try with another card , this time with reference ofcourse:D Ā Ā
October 12, 201410 yr Author Yes, I know about those Qimonda, but I've also had cards with scaling Qimonda's, so I had some hope
