silvanet Posted December 14 Posted December 14 I just discovered Intel Extreme Tuning Utility. Knowing nothing, I ran the XTU Benchmark. I've tweaked my setup over many years on this old Asus MB PC, so there are I'm sure many settings that are not the original ones. I built my PC on an Asus B85M-E R2. I put an Intel Core i5-4570 CPU @3.20 GHz in it, with AMI 0303 BIOS from 4/18/13 running in UEFI mode. PCR7 configuration binding fails on it. Asus documentation told me that there is a TPM port on board and that I could buy a chip for it, but none I tried worked. The BIOS did not recognize any of them (I returned them all). Therefore, it doesn't pass the Windows encryption requirements to install Windows 11. So, I'm running W 10 Pro (64 bit), 22H2, build 19045.5131 (6/24/23). The board has DDR3 32G. So, my XTU Benchmark was saved and uploaded as Anonymous 789 marks with Core i5 4570@ 3470 MHz It's at https://hwbot.org/submission/5720867. I was pleasantly surprised that my configuration ranked nicely in comparison to other similar motherboards & systems using the i5-4570, and that actually mine on the B85M-E was the TOP one! What I'd like to know is what can I tweak to improve my benchmark. I am not overclocking at all. I will appreciate any suggestions and help, before I move on to some of my newer builds on different motherboards (MSI for example). Quote
ObscureParadox Posted December 15 Posted December 15 For your particular setup you're quite limited in what you can do, all I'd suggest is to make sure the CPU is kept as cool as possible in order to avoid any thermal throttling, if there is an option in bios to max out boost times / current draw then max them out. Use a cut down version of windows 10 such as tiny 10 which can be found on web archive, and finally if you are able to, tweak your memory speeds / timings as much as possible. Happy hunting! Quote
