inphinity Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Hi, i have a question about Ram speeds. I downloaded Intel Extreme Tuning Utility today and i saw that my ram speed was at 1333MHz by default. I have Kingston DDR3 HyperX Beast 16GB 2400MHz. Should it not be at 2400MHz by default? Quote
der8auer Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Usually you need to set a XMP profile to hit that frequency. You should go to your BIOS and enable the XMP profile. Which mainboard do you use? Quote
inphinity Posted September 3, 2013 Author Posted September 3, 2013 I use a MSI Z87 MPOWER. I tried to change it via the IETU but it didn't take it kicked me into Bios after restart and rest the settings. I am very new to Overclocking Quote
der8auer Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Try to do it directly in the BIOS. I'm not 100% sure about the MSI BIOS but you should select "OC" on the right side and scroll down to "MEMORY-Z". I think you find the XMP information there. Also make sure the DRAM voltage is set correctly. Should be 1,65 Volt for your kit. You can also find the DRAM Voltage in the "OC" tab. Quote
inphinity Posted September 3, 2013 Author Posted September 3, 2013 I will try. Thanks for the reply. Quote
