ANyway too weak for the GTX 580 VRAM. @matose it was just lapped anyway i'm also interested in GTX 580 GPU OC decreasage after taking the IHS off and it is a kind of non-sense. unfortunately had to stop my experiments in late July 'cuz 've got lack of time and money for that.

TaPaKaH i know it's not, but GBT boards seem to be very unpredictable & uncertain for me even with the same settings within two-three hours not talking ablout days. one day it works 6-9-6 2100+, another day it goes to cyclic restart even at 2133 8-10-8. hate GBT. can definitely tell that after testing more than 10 dif. models of their boards for SB (some in several samples). seems i've got a kind of anti-bullshit mobo poltergeist lol 12 and you are real hero 'cuz of fighting on/with GBT

It seems you can't, sorry.. GF 8600 GT category is still much more popular and competitive. One of the ideas was to involve more people into the game. Adding 8600 GTS means their owners will get a strong bonus with RAM OC so clocking 8600 GT would become a waste when competing the top. Means less results, less people.

Don't push all the responsibility onto me PJ! AFAIR soldering VGA chip on the elder card series PCB means moving to stronger category. Can't find the link on the appropriate posts here but this was already discussed at HWBOT earlier. So the thing TiN wants to do means he would compete in GF 8600 GTS category, especially concerning both GPUs have the same shader-ROP-bit formula.
